Love that park. And loved camping in it when my kids were young. It's the perfect distance from the Twin Cities (i.e. not too far), no mosquitos, great (and short) hiking trails, plus a swimming hole in the river. What's not to like?

As I recall, Casey also encountered a group of young schoolchildren on a field trip who were excited to see him—Teacher! Look! Here comes the gorilla!—and their teacher calmly steered them in a different direction.

Most of my neighbors in Ward 13 honestly DON’T know this. Thanks to All of Minneapolis, NextDoor and the Strib, they really think the city council is both in charge (and to blame) for things that fall 100 percent under the mayor’s control.

So glad to hear it. The advances in orthopedic surgery in the last 40 years have been AMAZING!!!! Hooray for docs and physical therapists!

Hey, how did the ACL surgery go? Do you have a sense of when you can be back on your bike?

Shoot, I didn't see that Miles endorsed Pearll. Should've seen that coming.

I don't see this getting up to 60 percent for anyone. For the love of humanity (including the brave, intrepid Hot Dog Larry Jacobs) adjourn this thing!

What the Ward 2 etablishment won't say: Robin has the audacity to be both a woman and so Blackity-Black.

Cancelled my NYT after the 2024 election and can testify that I don't miss it at all. The NYT had such a twisted "both sides," sane-washing framework that reading it felt like a moral injury, like I was supporting something sick.

Wow!!!! Is this a record for shortest ward convention ever? 47 minutes?!?

I would like to try ranked choice voting at conventions to make them go faster. The chief complaint seems to be that they take SO LONG.

Bassais insists budget growing out of control, but I will callback to his statement that cops be fully funded. #1 expense in city. (Also total budget rise, Bassais pegged at $400m is often mostly fee-for-service that are locked in unless you want less pure water, trash, etc.)

ACL surgery is so much better and less intrusive now—-heck, you may be back on the bike in 8 weeks……just not doing 75 mile days right off the bat!

I rode my bike to an ACL surgery---it was 45 years ago. But I did it for the same reason----it was going to be my last ride for 2-3 months. Also, I was 20 years old, on my own and it was how I got to the suburban hospital for my surgery.
