I listened to the episodes of behind the bastards about it recently, and I am honestly just flummoxed and baffled that anyone would step foot on that thing. What’s the doc???

I’ll send pics later! I’ll probably make a little video while I’m transferring the P. pruinosus colony.

I have separate bins for each colony I keep! Each is a little micro-biome with springtails, moss, peat/soil/charcoal mix, filtered water misting, and varying detritus. Currently leaves and cork but I just sterilized some twigs and shredded cardboard egg carton. They also have lil bowls with steppies

Milkbacks are some of the larger pods and they can have 20-40 eggs in a clutch so this mama EASILY had 20 (or close to it) survive. And the P. pruinosus were supposed to be the robust breeders, not these!!

I’ve got plenty of springtails to go around but I’ll do a reclamation* next week anyway if anyone’s still in the struggle bin. *flooding the bin so the springtails come to the top and any mites/parasites drown. Since isos carry their eggs I don’t have to worry about accidentally harming a clutch.

I lost count at 10 mancae y’all, I think a HUGE chunk of this clutch lived, and I’ve got one more confirmed prego and one I suspect is prego by the way she’s walking (exactly like the other two pregos, sorta slightly hunched up in the center like she’s holding tight to some wrigglers)
