best way to get a head start is to inherit your mother's creepy doll collection, though it's not clear they're automatically bound to the next of kin-

yeah... this kind of thing also demotivates me, i have never been part of the queer dating/hook up scene, and scared of being ridiculed for one thing or another
i'm neurodivergent and quite bad at reading people, and also due to trauma sometimes bad communicating my desires (when i even know them)

i just have a special place in my heart for Octavia Butler, especially Parable of the Sower, Lilith's Brood was good too; Bloodchild felt more like a shock story i don't think it was too great, but we need to place it in the age it's from

i agree with the general annoyahce yeah, there's a lot of bad writing in that direction, it's extremely overdone now

yeah true, though tbf, Octavia Butler wrote that story in 1984, i don't think many knew about trans men back then, the whole "what if men had to go through what women do" genre was big in the 80s

haha yes i can imagine most bands would go for that aspect, but from what i remember Orphanage's music was more about the doom/despair of the setting than about creepy crawlies

that brings me back we had a Dutch gothic metal band "Orphanage" in the 90's that was entirely around Lovecraft themes

humans are the only animals that are evil
(also, please throw me in a pool with a shark, being thrown in a pool with a shark by another trans woman would be amongst the coolest ways to die)

My off time. Like I could kick off the stiletto heels that are physically part of my feet, wipe away the cherry red colour of my plastic lips, or lay down the weapons built directly into my skeleton.
What do I do in my off time? Absolutely fucking nothing.
"I like gardening!" I say with a smile.

such an innovative idea ! always wanted to have to build a dyson swarm around the sun just to try every possible combination of letters, to read my messages

neat, can't remember ever having played Spectre; the first 3D game i remember is Infestation (www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9oX...) also from 1991
it has the most badass mechanical insect, but sadly only in the intro 😅
(the first level is weird, if you want to see the interior check ~ halfway the video)

the rounded thing may be that the Gouraud output is put through some non-linear ramp? that's just guessing though, i would imagine it's something cheaper than actual normal mapping

it's a quite distinctive style, maybe it's just the combination of low-res 3d rendering and big pixels (or, the restriction in shades for 256 colors), it somehow looks softer than when one'd render the same on modern GPUs and resolutions

i played a ton of TIE fighter (floppy version) as a kid, i don't remember what kind of shading it had anymore, from youtube it it looks like Gouraud without textures, still like this style though im not sure if that's not just 100% nostalgia
