*actually, 'for the smallest achievable environmental impact' rather than 'reduced'

I think most of the examples you see of 'ChatGPT/Google AI Overview being a dummy' is a system problem more than a language model problem, which I struggle to see language models themselves solving but better systems probably could
comment in response to post
I'm gonna avoid getting into the philosophy of this, but it does kinda seem like a case of 'we can get around some of the problems of language models understanding how to do things by giving them lots to read all the time'

yeah, like I still find it very weird that 'You are a helpful helper who loves helping!' is still a kind of thing you're recommended to do

Chat GPT 3.5 w/ the turbo model apparently had a context window of 16k tokens* in 2023. Claude's latest system prompt has over 6k tokens on instructions for searching the web alone! (Claude info per- simonwillison.net/2025/May/25/... ) *kinda like segments of words

I'm in a "dipped out" stage of dipping in and out of comics, but I remember how much of a pain the reader experience was as a ~newbie

My particular wish is that the wider CBs have something that isn't RCB and LCB if referring to a specific one of them. CCB is ok for me (it's not pretty but at least it's distinct), although I'd take an improvement on it if it was offered

Yeah, and re the former, iirc the Intercontinental Cup just keeps the European champ away from the others until the final, like a cascading play-in

No, my point was actually that Bayern beating Auckland by a large scoreline is not a thing I think reflects any particular meaningful thing about the CWC
comment in response to post
I just mean, Auckland playing Bayern, with a fairly predictable result, isn't something FIFA will likely feel ashamed or embarrassed about. Arguably it's a more worthy match than PSG-Atleti, viewed in FIFA's purpose as an organisation

(they may also point out that the women's World Cup has had notable lopsided scorelines but that it's got more competitive over time) Idk I'm just not sure that a very lopsided scoreline, which actually underplays lopsided resources, in itself says that much 'bad' about the Club World Cup

I've never remembered/known what they're called and I love that it's such an adorable name

Allow football to have a proper off-season, which can be filled with affiliated small-sided competitions, which now have a fanbase and celeb following. At the same time, these orgs absorb a potential competitor instead of competing with them, while KL(&QL)/BL get the backing of established infra

tbf, I think the ownership turmoil was part of this, but it will/would be interesting to see these figures tracked in a similar way for all the other teams who have been/are currently bumping up against PSR

I'm not sure how to gauge FAA's serve quality, but Fritz's returns have been pretty great too

Also, neat chart design imo

Fritz's serve placement is verging on lovely too tbf

If ever there was a 'recreate in the aggregate' footballer, it's gotta be 'freakishly creative right-back'

While we're at it, I...forgot to log in here to plug my deep dive into Hayden Hackney's skillset from last Thursday. Do give this a read too! scoutedftbl.com/hayden-hackn...

Good enough that I'll add the 'disclaimer: guest gets teed up for a sales pitch' comment in a separate post from the one where I share the link
