Just listened to your superb interview on the ancient warfare podcast about this. Will definitely be giving this a read 👍👍

The 6 was so much more graceful, with a better sense of scale. The 4 did sometimes look good, but that was down to the shot and the skill of those lighting it

Does come at the expense of speed, but I never expected this to be a quick build

They didn't have enough of the 5.25" mounts to meet demand so some of the Didos only received 2 mounts forward, with something else in the third position

I do love the lengths scientists will go to in order to make their catchy acronym work 🤣😎👌

Arguably the human process is the very thing that elevates something from a mere object/picture, to being Art.

That makes sense. An upgrade of the Ambassador design, retrofitted with some of the proven technology intended for the Galaxy class, to try and bring some of that capability online in time to be useful in the war. Perhaps only a couple were launched before the war ended, the rest being scrapped

Does mapping the mirror damage allow for reducing the impact of that damage on the final processed images?

There was the elm tree pump in ships for a while, literally made from the hollowed out trunk of an elm tree

Yes I agree with that too. They seriously overdid that grid. Maybe they decided it would be quicker to do that than paint the traditional Aztec pattern on the hull

I prefer what appeared on screen. Probert's design is nice but it looks like what it is: a retrospective attempt to shoehorn in a missing link design, and it looks forced as a result. Sternbach's design is solid and functional, and to me, more believable 🖖

Here's a slightly smaller version, photographed by me on the forecastle of HMS Belfast in 2016, for reference. #NavalHistory #WW2 #Cruisers #Anchors

For a laugh, this is what they looked like from my original 2006 model! My references (and attention to detail!!) were somewhat lacking back then! #CGI #Battleships

You're analysing these in near perfect step with me watching through TOS at the moment. Have you hijacked my TV? 🤣

Civil disobedience, and lots of it. Stay strong! 💪

To avoid damaging this model with the wires, we shall drill some holes in it and epoxy in some lifting eyes! 👌

They have a no nonsense kind of design aesthetic, yet still quite elegant. It's a nice balance

You can easily switch to that in the windows region/language settings. Gives you access to some combining keystrokes
