Interesting fact I learnt about Nightwatch at last night’s @phpxadl.bsky.social: apparently I was Early Access user number one. Didn’t know that.

A fresh install of Laravel, installed Livewire and Fortify, have my auth process all, well, wired up (just finalising the two factor step). And fully tested. Loads of learning (for those who don't know, I've been an Inertia/Vue guy for years) but so satisfying. A really good week.

The Livewire build continues. This morning I’ve been writing @pestphp.bsky.social tests for the auth setup, and also writing a set for the behaviour of a custom blade component. The one challenge: where to put a test for a component that is blade file only. Thoughts?

And… to add more fun to the Livewire and Flux mix: Socialite is installed and set up for their Google sign in, and played with some Alpine-only JS on the front end too. And even made a blade component to better handle and consistently style flash messages. It’s been a good day.

Continuing with the Livewire build today. Have just hooked up my Login component to run through Fortify's pipeline for authentication. And it all works so nicely, so that's even better.

🎉 Tickets for #LaraconAU are ON SALE now! We return to QUT's Gardens Theatre on November 13-14 for two days of learning, connecting, and - of course - levelling up your Laravel skills!

Is PHPStorm eating anyone else's files? Yesterday my app, composer.json specifically, was all set up. Returned to the app today, and lost two scripts added, and all added packages. I've noticed this in another app with other files too... but it is not always. Anyone else?

My niece turned 4 on the weekend So naturally I’m eating leftover Chocolate Crackles and Honey Joys.

It's `laravel new` day today. Not just that, but after my learning project earlier this year, my first client app to be built with Livewire too.

It's less than a week until our next meet up, where @jessarcher.bsky.social fields your questions on Nightwatch! Drop 'em below 👇👇

Just pushed 2.6.0 for our Two Factor for @statamic.com addon, that improves the authentication flow, plays seamlessly alongside other addons, and improves the reliability of the re-challenging period too. Run your `composer update` and you're good to go. statamic.com/addons/mity-...

Been exploring VSCode (to replace PHPStorm). But one missing thing is in "Outline". It shows me what is in *that* class, but not what it inherits, which is something I find incredibly useful. Is there a way to get what I'm after? Workaround? Or am I a stupid dev who's doing things wrong?

Taught the older style 45 minute format of BodyPump 127 tonight. That’s full Lunges and full Shoulder tracks instead of the Bicep/Tricep and Lunge/Shoulder combos. Why: because the music is so much better. But also wasn’t as tough as I was expecting. Sounds like a weight increase is on the cards.

Now… where’s my Batman suit?

The next @statamic.com AU/NZ online meetup is happening tomorrow, Thursday 22nd May, on Teams. Everyone - regardless of geographic location - is welcome! 2:00pm AEST (note earlier than usual time) ICS: mity.digital/statamic-au-...

It’s getting cold outside… frosty… so before it destroyed the crop, harvested my basil, quick freeze, and have frozen fresh basil on hand for that awesome basil-ness. And a batch of Thai basil ready to go too.

I had other work scheduled today. But didn’t feel like it. Instead, made an app that gets pinged when a Freshdesk ticket is assigned an agent, which creates a Task for that person in Asana. Plus the infrastructure to allow for extending things: like two way sync. And deployed it. In half a day.

Well, my new doc is thorough. Blood tests this morning, fasting of course, and now 7 vials later... 😳

Go on... submit a talk... you'll be in such a supportive environment in the lead up to the conference, and you'll have a stellar experience at the event. Do it!

Anyone else noticed a change in flavour of the orange Allen's Snakes Alive? The other colours are unchanged, but the orange is now more "tropical" - with a hit of passionfruit or mango.

Best feature of the (upcoming) new Mity site: the AU/NZ @statamic.com meetup events are built in-site: meaning the ics are generated on-demand. Plus support for online events, and in-person with address details. And was easy, of course, thanks to @spatie.be's icalendar-generator package.

It is great that @statamic.com makes it so easy to make and transform entries to meaningful search indices, meaning that your site's search, with complete knowledge of all of your content, helps your users find what exactly they're looking for. www.martyfriedel.com/blog/meaning...

The Mity site is being refreshed... and most importantly, streamlined with years' of experience of building maintainable sites with @statamic.com to make things easier to manage moving forward. Stay tuned: it's coming soon.

I recently rewatched Ted Lasso and it's as good as ever, but this time around there was an extra feeling. www.michaelscruse.com/blog/revisit...

Anyone I know use YouTrack? Thoughts, verdicts?

How awesome are queues?

I've been invited to my high school for their Careers Breakfast to talk to year 11 and 12 students about my 25 year journey in to computer science, web development and small business ownership. And I get breakfast.

Apparently Blue Pepsi Max is a thing now. Uh, OK.

In the lead up to its sequel in June, starting a new (re-)playthrough of “Death Stranding” (the DC) on PS5 Pro. The head and heart need this.
