Yep. Said that above.
It's as inevitable as a closeted gay congressman voting for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation & being discovered in a "scandalous" situation that exposes the fact that he has been, in fact, voting against his own self-interest to keep his TERRIBLE SHAMEFUL SECRET.
Sorry. Off-topic.

The only thing that gives me any hope at all, any comfort, is the thought of the next Democratic President REVERSING EVERY SINGLE THING THEY'VE DONE.
Every thing that it's possible to reverse.
There's no repairing destroyed lives, no bringing back people from the dead.
The motherfuckers.

There are not enough ways to express the depth and breadth of my loathing of these people.

IT WOULDN'T ALL FIT IN ONE POST.
They're trying to erase history.
Just like they're trying to erase PEOPLE.
The motherfuckers.

"... and the USNS Medgar Evers, the assassinated 1960s civil rights leader. ***These are John Lewis-class ships, meant to be named after civil rights leaders and activist icons***. The lead ship in the group is named after the noted American politician and civil rights leader."

"...the USNS Harriet Tubman, named for the woman who helped slaves escape to freedom in the 19th century, the USNS Dolores Huerta and USNS Cesar Chavez, both Hispanic labor leaders, USNS Lucy Stone, a 19th century suffragette..."
No, there's MORE.

Still, I am always SHOCKED when someone whose work I admire turns out to be a colossal douchebag.

Obviously, that part of me is an idiot. There’s mountain of evidence to contradict this stupid theory, & I’ve seen it with my own eyes for years.

There’s a part of me (a part that needs killing) that’s always earnestly believed if you’re smart & talented, you MUST be a good person on the side of truth, justice, & yadda yadda yadda.

I do. 😈
Even when I’m raving like a lunatic.
YES.
I do a little ranting & raving in this ALT Text.
And YES, it is a little loony.

How to POST ALT Text:
Upload your image, then CLICK it - a space appears and you type your text there.
Simple.
Set it up as a default in your Settings, that way you never have to think about it:
settings > accessibility > require alt-text for images.

ALT Text: CLICK THE IMAGE.
There’s text beneath it.
(In my case, LOTS of text.)
CLICK THE TEXT- the entire text appears.
That’s how this works.

I shall quote Mrs. Winifred Banks, from "Mary Poppins," in her delightful ode to the suffragettes, titled (aptly) "Sister Suffragette:
"Though we adore men individually
We agree that as a group
They're rather... stupid."
She was singing, of course, about MEN.
But it applies to us all.

I usually describe images. This time I fucked it up - was on my morning walk & in too much of a damned hurry to transcribe the text - which ALSO needs doing when in the image.
That’s why I include all that stuff in the comments attached to any image I post.
Explaining what it’s for, etc.

Alternative text. Replaces image when it can’t be seen; either because the reader can’t see it or because of technical issue.

As far as I’m aware (Before Trump, anyway), Presidents’ names were fair game re: licensing. Anybody could use them - public domain, I believe.

“There’s also a Biden Burger, which consists of just 1oz (0.06lb) of beef, “old tomato “and our oldest buns, and is preposterously expensive at $50.99. However, it is not actually available because of “cheating and inflation,” the menu states.”
