Klauss spoke ahead of COL: "It’s time for everyone to take accountability. Not just players, staff... whole club has to be together in all situations. We feel for our fans bc they support us so much, always give us the best support possible and we feel for them." #AllForCITY

Player availability heading into Colorado Rapids this weekend for @stlcitysc.com per head coach Olof Mellberg: - Horn left USOC match w/an injury. Doubtful for the weekend. - Morales was training today, could be available. - No other significant changes expected. #AllForCITY

A beautiful backdrop for @stlcitysc.com training on Thursday. A lighter regen day for the team. Olof is present, on field and coaching the drills. Pregame press conference to Colorado upcoming w/Olof and Klauss. #AllforCITY

The other side is that in 5 of the last 7 games, Becher has subbed in for Klauss. Klauss hasn't gone more than 80' since 4/19 vs VAN & while the focus is often on our backline, our inability to close out games has to include discussing why Klauss is being taken out. #AllForCITY

CITY has now allowed 13g after 60' in their last 7 games in all comps, 2 tonight that continue this horrid trend. But somewhat surprisingly along with that, CITY has allowed 11g in those last 7 games after Simon Becher has subbed onto the field. #AllForCITY

Roman Bürki spoke after CITY's 3-2 USOC loss and said “It’s unexplainable what’s going on at the moment here... Against kansas we were up too and it kind of felt like a loss too. It’s unbelievable." #AllForCITY

Olof Mellberg spoke postgame on CITY's US Open Cup exit: "Disappointing. Thought we played better in the 2nd half but really disappointing. Quite a few games now that we've had the lead, disappointing to concede these goals." #AllForCITY

Henry Kessler and Joakim Nilsson have not had any re-aggrevations or setbacks, per Olof Mellberg. Being cautious w/Kessler, needs a few more days, hopefully will be available for the weekend. It's still the knee w/Joakim. Won't be available vs COL. #AllForCITY

And that’s that. The @stlcitysc.com 2025 US Open Cup journey comes to an end in harrowing fashion. Going down 0-1, leading 2-1 and ultimately losing 2-3. Good fight in the 2nd to come back, but another poor defensive performance late in the match is their undoing. #AllForCITY

Unbelievable again… minutes after Markanich scored, he gets his first professional brace to put MNUFC up 3-2. And it comes on a corner that was caused by a Josh Yaro defensive play of the game to save a goal… CITY absolutely cannot buy a break at this point. #AllForCITY

85’ dagger. Absolute dagger on multiple fronts as Teuchert couldn’t finish a sequence prior, Bürki had a phenomenal save… and its former @stlcitysc.com LB Anthony Markanich who ends up tying it at 2… #AllForCITY

Klauss exits at 78’ along w/Durkin for Becher & Silva. But noteworthy to me as the play before he left, Klauss did what he’s so good at - drew a foul on an aerial duel in the attacking half, from a Bürki long ball. Put CITY in a good position as he left w/1g scored. #AllForCITY

🎅🏻 KLAUSS!!! Heads home a beautiful cross from Marcel Hartel, back post, to put @stlcitysc.com on top 2-1 at 66’! Credit to Teuchert for finally being a CITY player willing to beat a defender & dribble deep into the final third before giving to Hartel. #AllForCITY

THE EQUALIZER! It’s Marcel Hartel with the header into net at 55’ after a great cross from CITY’s right back, Timo Baumgartl! Tied 1-1 #AllForCITY

Akil Watts first action in the 2H in relief of Horn is… to almost allow a goal by Gressel at 48’ on a back post run… #AllForCITY

Jannes Horn out at half, Akil Watts in. Horn presumably on a minutes cap. Watts takes Horn’s LB in CITY’s version of a 4 man back still, at least to open the half. #AllForCITY

1H & it’s 1-0 MNUFC. Pretty even match in terms of possession and shots w/ @stlcitysc.com having generated a few decent turnovers & transition chances but no shots on goal so far. The time is now to change the post-60’ narrative for Olof and his #AllForCITY side.

28’ Very questionable call in the box as Teuchert goes down in the box after great control on a pass over the top, 2 touches on his head and while there was contact, it’s apparently incidental. And no VAR in the USOC until the quarterfinals (if last 2 yrs holds). #AllForCITY

Josh Yaro’s defending of a moving CF in the box causes #AllForCITY to go down 1-0 at 10’ and MNUFC is undefeated in 9 games after taking the lead… Everything’s fine, why do you ask?

The thing about this @stlcitysc.com XI is it’s *mostly* good in theory. We’ve seen most of these guys w/sustained success before so it’s just, can it finally come together - from gameplay, tactics, putting them in the right positions, 2nd half subs/adjustments & notably: effort. #AllForCITY

Could easily be a back 4 or back 5. Overall, a good XI w/good attacking sub options but concerns remain on the backline. Horn healthy enough to start on the left is great. JGR w/another start, Durkin returning to the XI & Wallem likely on the right in the attack. #AllForCITY

Not often we bring our discussion on our XI out front and center but USOC & midweek tend to bring out some really chaotic projections. "Start your best" means different things to different people, but I believe a lot in this XI w/few justifiable changes if healthy. #AllForCITY

It's not a stretch to say this is an incredibly meaningful game that has the potential to impact the rest of the #AllForCITY season. It's easily a "Best XI have to start" situation but how many are fit and who does Olof consider his Best XI right now?
