And if you split, either get each attorney's time input into the court clock or GO FIRST. In a court that does not time separately, you can lose most of your time if the first lawyer isn't good at monitoring time on the fly.

I want it on record that although I was a judge on many DOJ moots I am NOT the reason for this entry. But I have a few theories about who might have inspired it (and no, I am not telling).

Shit! I'm literally looking across the St. Lawrence at Ontario right now. But the bunkers aren't finished and the artillery hasn't even arrived yet. Meanwhile, the Canadian Coast Guard ship I can see from my house remains moored in Prescott, Ontario. ... Still, silent, waiting.

Yep. He argued the first travel ban case in Trump 1. My point is only that he may not be a "true believer" Trump person but a career DOJ lawyer who is nonetheless willing to argue the Trump administration cases.

I'm skeptical about that. Auggie served in the Civil Division front office during Obama. I don't think he's a hard core Trumper (even though he's been willing to handle these cases). Just my opinion though.

Has anyone asked President Gore what he thinks about that?
