you've just inspired me for what to say when my wife asks me what we should do for dinner in about 15 min. 🫡

Working on a product that analyzes tons of Japanese text, so I'll have to check this out!

Awesome, curious what a replacement for PRDs looks like to you (former PM, here). Structured, role-playing LLMs which simulate different collaborative approaches and team dynamics, and ultimately generate a tangible artifact (PRD, design specs, ..) is what I have in mind. A "PM lab".

How would you compare it to llm.datasette.io/en/stable/ (if you've tried it)? I've lived with terminal+vim as IDE for years, and `llm` has been a game-changer.

I’ve read some of W. Brian Arthur’s economics stuff, Kauffman’s Origins of Order (synthetic biology, creativity at the edge of chaos), and Gell-Mann’s pop physics book. Kauffman had the biggest impact on me, though it was a while ago. Dynamical systems, maybe? Also John Holland.

Great article. I keep thinking about it. Would you consider Santa Fe Institute an example of ideonomy in practice / school of thought? the idea of complexity applied to various disciplines.

Someone really thought they _especially_ clever on that day.

"As a user, I want to mitigate my job security." "As a user, I want to abstract away all reality." In seriousness, some people out there actually building tools that aim to break down barriers without removing too much user control or replacing human thought. We just don't call it "agentic AI".

That was outstanding and hit me on multiple levels.

I use them daily as a programming assistant. Beyond personal use, I'm building a specialized platform that uses LLMs to translate and analyze Japanese financial documents. This solves a real problem because its a specific, well-defined task. I get inspired by people building cool things.

Thoughtful product design is going take a beat to catch up to what's possible.

That line was getting tested in interviews with Jim Chanos a few weeks(?) back. I shuddered after hearing all the praise and adoration for his background as a HF guy.

simple, don't do deals with people who are not acting in good faith. Once a bad faith actor is identified, disengage with extreme prejudice.

Western Illinois was formerly Hardee's territory. Was ceded to Carl's Junior before the turn of the millenium.

Ideally they would supplement a setup similar to what you have, which looks to be power rack and barbell-focused, but they're all I have right now, so I use them along with lots of bodyweight work. I have three KBs: a "heavy" for rows, squats & lunges, and two med. lights for shoulder and arm work.

Nice setup. Love deadlifts. Do you work with kettlebells at all?

Sold all my ETFs with any of this garbage exposure. Wrote a tool to decompose Vanguard ETFs into individual positions so I could see just how much toxic waste was in my net Vanguard ETF portfolio. github.com/matthelmer/e...

Absolutely. Public libraries are a vital institution. No wonder they want to destroy them. Public libraries are where the young and old alike escape tyranny, in its many forms, if only for a few hours.

For sure. His false confidence in fighting domain is no surprise. In the business world, up until now, extreme confidence has served him well. In ANY sparring-based martial art, he would've been humbled on day one. So, of course he postures as a tough guy, because he has no clue how to fight.

One wishes he would've engaged in getting his ass kicked much earlier in life.
