to wash all its parts and then you have to put the cover back on and there are all those little elastic bands that have to be stretched at some possible angle and looped through a little hole and then hooked over a tiny metal thing you can’t even see, the tool you need for the job is a crochet hook

How about the AI agent just figures out how to order balloons from the Michaels website without me having to close 50 popup newsletter signup things

I’m probably more of an AI optimist than most people on this site but I can’t for the life of me understand why everybody seems to think it’s going to be planning whole-ass birthday parties with no human input

Can we send Wallner to Wichita for his rehab? Clear skies there today.

No need, we'll just rain-delay our way to a healthy lineup. Problem solved!

I should have saved more posts from all of the Buxton haters over the last couple years so I could go back now and tell them to feel bad about themselves

I’m probably doing that annoying Bluesky thing where you respond to a joke too literally, but yes and I can highly recommend doing this (allergy immunotherapy)

Not here to defend dumb robots or anything, but if you do this query with the search feature turned on it does a pretty good job and includes actual citation links

Also they’ll service any bike! Including my Radwagon which most shops (understandably) want nothing to do with

Can't help but notice this article makes no mention of any plans to step up actual enforcement. Color me skeptical until we hear more on that

What's always so mystifying about this argument to me is that side streets eventually have to CROSS arterials. Does anybody (even non-biking drivers) want bikers constantly trying to cross at uncontrolled intersections?

Great news, thanks! I must be jaded - I hadn't even looked because I just assumed the date would have been pushed back again

I’ll be honest you out-Highland-Village-historianed me on that one but I say if you can’t make a joke with an audience of one on Bluesky then what the hell is it good for

Ugh, you can always tell one of the modern “Dr. Seuss” branded books that he didn’t write because he was impeccable with his meter and none of the newer authors make the same effort

Good recommendations! I was a bit surprised not to see mention of insurance - I've come to believe that's the only real failsafe against bike theft. Bikes may be covered by your homeowners or renters plan, but worth knowing your deductible. If it's too high, consider a bike plan from velosurance.com

I mean spend money. It’s not like owning a baseball team is such an incredible investment that you’d rush to get the deal done so you can cut spending and enjoy those sweet sweet margins
comment in response to

I trust @danhayesmlb.bsky.social’s reporting and all but man, the notion that this whole deal could get done within the off-season seems totally bananas. Somebody who’s that enthusiastic to get it done I’d have to believe would be trying to make a splash at least in the short term

I guess it depends on whose "I don't have free speech" complaints we're talking about? There are plenty of places where free speech is legit under threat, e.g. books mentioning LGBTQ topics being banned from public/school libraries in the South, or preventing teachers from mentioning CRT topics

Fair enough - I think it's easy to misinterpret at first glance, but that's my subjective take and maybe I'm wrong
comment in response to

Yeah I think we agree on the essential thing - the original chart doesn't have the data to make the point. The graph is just a plot of the data from the chart. And again, I agree that the point made in the post is true, I just think we don't need to rely on misleading charts to prove it
comment in response to
post
You’re right, there’s definitely a trend, but the way the chart was presented in the original post could make you think at a quick glance that there have been 3° of warming in the past 20 years.
comment in response to

I do agree, but this table doesn’t really show an obvious trend if you sort by date?

The minute we walked into the Christmas market at Union Depot, my wife said “this is the future of Saint Paul”. It could just be like that all the time
