A week from now we'll be at the halfway point. Honestly kind of hard to believe. 74 down, 88 to go, #MNTwins on pace to go 81-81. Gnight, and I'll skeet at you tomorrow. (And send those mailbag questions!)

Highest career slugging percentage in Twins history (minimum 750 games): .518 — Harmon Killebrew .485 — Justin Morneau .482 — Byron Buxton .481 — Kent Hrbek Three first basemen and one Gold Glove-winning center fielder.

Once more for the dayside crowd: hit me with #MNTwins mailbag questions. Recording tonight.

Wallner snaps a string of 20 straight plate appearances without reaching base by drawing a walk.

Rad stat from the incomparable @slangsonsports.bsky.social: This is the third time Byron Buxton has hit two homers in the first two innings of a game, most in Twins/Senators history.

(extremely Chevy Astro commercial voice) Willi, Willi, Willi, Willi Castro, Castro Castro, Castro (IYKYK)

Breaking: Byron Buxton is good at baseball.

That's a wrap from GABP, back here in just a few hours. That's 73 down, 89 to go, #MNTwins on pace to go 80-82. Gnight and I'll skeet at you... um, later today actually.

Also on the very, very short list of the best baseball analysts for any network on any level.

If it were ever to happen, an FSU-Ark MCWS final would be like the 2016 World Series. Both in the magnitude of heartbreak for the losing side, and also it would be guaranteed to be deeply stupid and go as many games as possible and end with extra innings and rain and chaos.

College baseball is absolutely perfect and it's fine if you don't love it, but it is magnificent and beautiful.

Easily Ober's most encouraging inning of the game, and not just because of the results. Much more around the edges of the zone instead of the middle.

just pointing out that if you liked my deep dive on Tracks II: The Lost Albums, i'm doing a subscription sale over at Radio Nowhere, my dedicated newsletter about Mr Bruce Springsteen www.radio-nowhere.com/lohad-2025-s...

Still both of these.

If Arkansas somehow wins the MCWS, I will be sincerely very happy for my Hawg friends and also very much the kid in the "congrats/happy for you" meme.

Ober's velo: up a bit. His location: still not there.

One thing I have noticed in my return to press boxes this year: I don't know if it's new this year or it's been building for years or what, but it's absolutely brutal and it's far too common: DJs taking pop/rock songs and playing them over completely unnecessary dance beats. It's gotta go, y'all.
