I won't go back until he and his cronies are gone. And then safeguards have to be put in place that keep this from ever happening again.

I was thinking about this just the other night. It was shameful then and it's shameful now.

The entire rational, thinking world has cooled on American travel. No one is safe here anymore and they know it.

Elmo is trying to save his big & beautiful car company and what he doesn't get it is that it's too late. We, and the rest of the world, have seen him for what he is. A craven hack who doesn't give two fucks about anyone but himself.

Trump is afraid of falling out of a 6th floor window so he's not going to against the one who pulls the leash, now or ever.

I like how your plan doesn't have a "cry like a spoiled baby when I don't get my preferred candidate and sit out the general in protest" step.

I'm old enough to remember when there were suggestions that attacking impoverished peoples in foreign countries was a root cause of radicalization. Substitute "poor Americans" and you've got what they don't see coming. Poor people, and people who fear losing their rights, will only take so much.

It changes from day to day depending on my stress level & the level of my constant annoyance. Today background noise would make me want to stick my hands in a fire & I'm terrified of fire. (I wouldn't even consider a house with a fireplace when I was house shopping. Why tempt fate?)

Bill Clinton made mistakes in office (well documented) but I think that history will treat his presidency well. I like Bill and Hillary, and I voted for both of them, and damn proud to have done so.

Oh poor baby...has to work an actual job with actual office hours in an actual office...you know...like the rest of us working stiffs in the good ole U.S. of A. May I suggest that he immediately resign? I mean, assuming his wife wants him back home full time.

DJT needs to be careful. People who displease Mr. Putin have a nasty habit of falling out of open (or closed?) windows.

Everyone deserves to retire with dignity & security, but I get your point. On the National level, we need to make Republicans repay the special security trust, stop taxing the monthly benefit & lower ( not raise!) the full retirement age from 67 back to 60. I’d be okay with means testing, too.

And those three need to face primary challenges. We can't just scream about consequences for Republicans. We have to hold our own responsible when they make bad decisions as well.
No democratic legislator should be voting for any Republican legislation or confirmation. Period.

I'm told I'm allowed unsweetened tea, but I'm from south so just no. I'd probably lose my southerner's card if I drank unsweetened tea & deservedly so.
Be warned, Matti w/o food is not the fun-loving, kind, non-snarky bundle of joy that you're used to. Regular programming to resume on Friday a.m.

As a result, I've just eaten my last food for the next 24 hours (a chicken salad sandwich & blueberry muffin + a honey drip chai latte from Gali’s Café). From here on out it's jello, water, apple juice, and white grape juice.

I've considered giving up my employer sponsored health insurance that charges me co-pays & co-insurance because Medicaid covers so much more than the Anthem/BCBS I have. And MC has dental & vision coverage. Who decided that teeth & eyes don't qualify as health matters? And can I beat them up?

Not Norm! I'm a bit emotional today (have a medical procedure tomorrow that I'm stressing about) but this has brought tears to my eyes. I know it was the character he played on Cheers, but he really did seem like the kind of guy you'd want to sit down with, have a beer or 3 & listen to his stories.

The goal should be to starve the GOP until it's small enough to drown in a bathtub...
Or something like that. (paraphrased from Grover Norquist)

The GOP trying to kill actual people who have exited the womb is nothing new. They don't even really care about fetuses. They care about the uber-rich and themselves. As far as they're concerned, the rest of us just need to do them a favor and die already.

I grew up on military bases overseas (Okinawa, Midway, Cuba) so all we had was tinned vegetables. My favorite fresh veggie is asparagus. I still can't do fresh peas, but I love the tinned ones - eat them straight of the can sometimes.

We don't seem capable of serious national conversations anymore. I blame Reagan & Gingrich & their plan (successful beyond their wildest dreams) to dumb down America. It's hard to have serious conversations about anything when a large percentage of Americans are incapable of critical thinking.

I used to say that we'd never fix America until we fixed education in America. Now it seems I need to expand that to include the press. Is it because the press is now for profit and not a public service? For profit education, jails, news, politics? Maybe capitalism on all fronts isn't the answer?

Well, if we're going there, and it seems we are, can we also talk about how Reagan's schedule was determined by a psychic? Or Nixon being a criminal in the White House? Or I don't know...the current POTUS and his penchant for violating the Constitution every way to Sunday and back?
