Cool. Cool. www.aim.security/lp/aim-labs-...

It’s fair to say that the events of the last week have proven that the Huntington bargain, the separation of military and civilian-political spheres, is essentially dead. The military is going to be involved in domestic politics, whether it can handle that, we’re going to find out soon. My latest⬇️

I wrote in February that objective control and dual loyalty was dead but I think unless there are resignations within the next 48 hours, the military ethic and basic tenants of professionalism are also dead

All the AI Haters on this site haven't used even dumb-ish local models to do stupid stuff like generate Markdown for all the images in your directory. 😹 (because remember remember the order of the [] and () is hard problem suitable for AI) 😼

There’s a sizable protest of what appears to be entirely faith leaders and clearly outside the Capitol right now, with the demonstrators speaking out against the GOP-led budget. It’s a Pentecost gathering “for a moral budget.” Lawmakers are also expected to appear.

"Our cutting-edge lemonade stand harnesses the insight of artificial intelligence to help us understand our customers’ needs like never before. We’re confident this next-gen technology was a valuable investment for our twenty-five-cent children’s drink business."

Enough doomscrolling, going back to fucking with agent frameworks and starting to binge watch SAS Rogue Heroes. www.imdb.com/title/tt1040...

A video explaining the terms about federalization of the Guard, the difference between the Guard, Reserves, and Active Duty, and when the guard or active duty can engage in law enforcement. Hint: the guard as activated in Calif cannot. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/video-expl...

Much more interesting coverage outside the US (as usual) www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSSh...

Ahead of No Kings Day, a couple trainings we have coming up that might be useful: Safety and Deescalation: www.mobilize.us/nokings/even... Know Your Rights (w/ACLU): act.aclu.org/a/2025-kyr-t...

Finally a good YouTube rec. Had never heard of this show. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QumX...

My answer in '88 would have been. Get cheap in-state tuition in Texas. Yes, it was less than a grand per semester at A&M. Believe it or not.

No shit. www.npr.org/2025/06/02/n...

This is a faster read and already a quarter through it. Should finish today. Glad I read the previous to trace the threads between the Weimar and 1990s Russia.

Finished this up last night. I struggled with it at first, but glad I stuck it out.

I'm Eileen Laubacher. A retired Rear Admiral and the Democrat running against Lauren Boebert. I know what sacrifice means and service looks like. Boebert doesn’t have a clue. Can you help me get to 5k followers to show her we can do this?!

MARYLAND: Free concert in the park sponsored by @freestatecoalition.bsky.social, the MD 50501 organizers... I mean what could be better, really? You say there will be lemon sticks? 😍 @indivisiblebaltoco.bsky.social www.mobilize.us/indivisibleb...

Another solid @indivisiblebaltoco.bsky.social meetup! Building sustainable human connections FTW. We got a grant from @indivisible.org but we now also have a donation page many of us are paying out of pocket to bootstrap Democracy 🇺🇸https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indivisiblebc1334414740

"In this new battlespace, it’s not just about who has the most tanks, planes, or drones. It’s about who can protect their people, their institutions, and their way of life in a world where war is already being waged with ones and zeroes." CISA matters:

GEN George “struggled to endorse the transfer of $ from barracks to the border &conceded that maintenance of living qrtrs for jnr enlisted troops will likely take a hit.‘Obviously, redirecting has an impact—…If we took $1B out of barracks, we'd be able to fix less barracks’ @stevenbeynon.bsky.social

Looks interesting. Hey what ever happened to those foreign film tariffs? www.imdb.com/title/tt3217...

"A movement composed of money, technological infrastructure, government power, and popular support fractured. Not entirely. Not irreparably. But meaningfully. It’s an opportunity. It’s a reminder that these guys are not ten feet tall."

😏 Log Retention. My favorite GRC topic www.reuters.com/business/med...

Let’s not forget that earlier today, this day was known as “we cannot build bananas in America” day. That is, until everything went bananas

Trump’s tariff mess is wreaking havoc on U.S. manufacturing—slowing production and hurting businesses and consumers across the country. Nothing about this is “America First.” It’s just another betrayal from an administration that’s failed working people.

And the energy expended by these managers (if they are doing it right) is 🚀 I’m still remote but glad I’m not a remote manager.

OK Boomer.

www.imdb.com/title/tt2799... is good.

changelog.com/podcast/640 - a podcast talking about AI that you won’t hate!

Made the mistake of tuning in to the presser on Bloomberg just in time to hear Elon talking about "empathy" 🤮

secretaryrofdefenserock.substack.com/p/surviving-... <- interesting given I wore the TO patch in the 90s. @sodrock.bsky.social

This is an excellent follow up to an already outstanding piece on the existential failings of the American military system. A further reminder that Europeans clawing their way to strategic self-reliance need to develop their own path rather than emulate American mistakes.

www.imdb.com/title/tt2774... is watchable.
