I was skeptical, but "oligarch" seems to have caught on as a winning "bad guy" slogan in a way "BILLIONAIRES ARE JUST BAD!" was never going to. Whether they should or not, regular people WANT to be "rich." But 'OLIGARCH' sounds weird and foreign and evil like some LOTR monsterface guy.

I tried to watch a video about a book. The book was about The Holocaust. Due to fears of YouTube’s policies, the host wouldn’t use any words associated with The Holocaust, which itself was only called The History. And of course, they said “unalived” instead of killed. Like… fucking hell.

Literally every time I open Bluesky, the very first thing I see is some kind of “In Memoriam” post for someone. Every single time. And this constant, endless stream of death, this reminder of how short life is, has been really affecting my anxiety and I don’t know how to cope.
