With this patch announcement, my fears for TWW kinda materialized. Isolated from the larger saga, can anyone tell me what TWW is about? What is the main narrative thread? Some people could say that it's disingenuous to isolate it from the saga, but even first chapters of book trilogies have an arc.

Would anyone be? As long as they did it correctly, integrating with Steam friends list, allowing you to buy sub / expansions / store items through Steam (number 1 reason they wouldn't do it, cause Steam takes a cut), Steam workshop becoming a new source of addons maybe?

My other angle comes from my service industry background.
It's quite clear now that culture largely prefers others to take care of themselves than to nurture systems where we care for each other.
The labor of service has been thought of as annoying rather than fulfilling for far too long.
