I hope we all come out on the other side of The Great Enshittening.

Relatedly, this headline suggests “everyone using AI” is an organic problem that we need to start asking questions about, rather than a series of corporate, policy, and media choices that have foisted AI on a reluctant public.

No they aren't, and yes it is.

The puppy's ghost bit her.

Ahem. www.versobooks.com/blogs/news/i...

Gee, what could go wrong with normalizing jacked-up, masked white dudes without uniforms or badges capturing people and throwing them into unmarked vehicles and disappearing with them. I can't imagine.

If I wanted to do mass deportations, I'd make immigrants afraid to go to court or govt offices for legit reasons, and then their failure to show up would be used to label them criminals. It's so evil.

How can things get shittier and more insane every goddam day?

Serving and protecting, eh?

Fun fact to remember: the actual Luddites weren’t *ignorant*. They weren’t against all technology. They were skilled craftspeople - expert weavers - who recognized the machine looms as a lower-quality output than what they could make, and who rebelled against their replacement with soulless slop.

We’re announcing new legislation — the No Secret Police Act (SB 627) — to ban local/state/federal law enforcement, w/ some exceptions, from covering their faces when interacting w/ the public & require them to wear identifying info. The secret police behavior we’re seeing destroys trust & must end🧵

BREAKING: A federal judge reversed National Institutes of Health's terminations of hundreds of critical research grants that were canceled because of their alleged connection to disfavored topics, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and gender identity. This is a major win for public health.

I hate when I click on a Threads post mistakenly and the app opens and I know Zuck is gonna list me as a “regular user” of his garbage app to inflate its stats.

Important exception to No Kings.

Agreed. Journalistic failure.

A brilliant essay from @catvincent.bsky.social

Police arrest an elderly veteran protesting Trump’s wasteful military parade.

“No Kings” is one of the sharpest bits of political branding/rhetoric in a while. Extremely concise and in every headline, historically rooted, specific to the American tradition but also universalist, nails what’s exceptional about Trump in a way that almost all factions in opposition can endorse.

Has the White House made a statement about Minnesota? Has Trump called Gov. Walz? How has Patel responded? How have other Republican elected officials responded? Just asking. Not seeing reporting on these things.

assassinations, handcuffing a senator at press conference, marines detaining a civilian, and a military parade for the president’s birthday. rough week for democracy.

Hey, you know what would help? Not letting anonymous people in masks with no uniforms or badges act as law enforcement.

“At least 3 people have been shot at the homes of Democratic lawmakers in Brooklyn Park and Champlin in Minnesota, according to law enforcement sources. The suspect is believed to be impersonating a police officer and is still at large. The first shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on Saturday”

This is what Trump told Playboy in 1990: "When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak."

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III. Sound familiar?

Migrant workers for me, but not for thee.

It would be so, so very sad if it rained on someone’s birthday parade tomorrow.

Such a sweet smile.

“I asked chatgpt” “I asked grok” well I asked the flames, we are not the same.
