An amazing reaction to a book. Do you have a way of letting the author know? Raw feedback like that great to receive.

In the end, we're all just people, y'know?

To be fair, all the Kyrgyz I've met (n=1) have been top folks.

paradigmatic case of you can be in one of the best positions in the sector and still try to make staff pay for your incompetence

Just walking around Old (Vieux) Montreal is awesome. The Plateau is a groovy neighbourhood with good food and parks.
And if meat is not a concern, have a smoked meat sandwich. Prepare for being full! Schwartz's is the classic; Snowdon Deli off the beaten track and very good.

Tom Fisk is on Instagram; I'm not, so I can't connect that way. But links to his Pexels gallery are in the video description. And I found an interview with him - learned he also works as a data scientist! (I'm a sociologist and lecturer.) canvasrebel.com/meet-tom-fisk/

It's not stunningly innovative to use b-roll of "river" for a song called "Peace Like a River". When I first dreamed up the concept, I thought of a double-exposure with some CC-licensed footage of George Floyd protests. But the meditative quality of this video made me want to keep it on its own.

Not an historian, though I am a colleague. I read more fiction than non-: I read fiction almost daily, often at the end of the day, whereas my non-fiction reading is an ill-attended part of the suite of things I have to do at work. Hoping to improve next academic year.

Isn't that just the plotline for Cake's "The Distance"? (Which, to be fair, did *just* breach the top 40...)

Thank you! It's a special one.

One reason for putting out a video is the persistent popularity of this song on my blog. It's an infrequent, often abandoned blog, but I've been sharing stories about the songs I've released. This one, maybe bc of the title, gets viewed every week. anearthwithoutgrammar.wordpress.com/2024/04/26/s...

Yup. But even white suburban Canadian me wanted to be a stand-up comedian in the 80s/90s largely because of Cosby. He crossed over pretty massively.
