A big chunk of the right is batshit crazy. A big chunk of the left is also batshit crazy. If I’m really mean I’m sorry. Chances are my meds haven’t kicked in and I haven’t gotten high yet.

I’m going to enjoy saying “told you so” SO MUCH!!! And if you’re losing your job, house, etc and you voted for these people, don’t even come to me with your sad story because everyone fucking warned you.

There were tests for voting at one point but they were just used to disenfranchise blacks. If we could keep it from being misused I would 100% support a basic civics test to vote. I’m a strong believer that most people aren’t smart enough to be allowed to vote. Just look.

Weird 😂 but I really miss Publix

As a (very low level) elected official that goes to all the meetings I can tell you we are captured by activists

I mean that’s what we’ve been doing. It worked really well this last election. Keep up the good work!

Dunno. I’m not blocking her. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I just posted that I don’t understand this format. Didn’t get Twitter, either. It’s just a bunch of people I don’t know or care about typing into the void.

This is hilarious! The SEC was created to protect (rich) INVESTORS. It makes sure (rich) INVESTORS can make informed decisions. How are these poor rich people going to make the biggest profit possible while screwing the rest of the country without the SEC?

As the parent of a temporarily trans kid, I can say this definition of “reversible” is a stretch for any reasonable person.

Oh I forgot we hate Rowling, too. Down with anyone who doesn’t see things our way!!! It’s getting to be a pretty small world, isn’t it? Keep it up and you’ll successfully create the world’s first fully sealed echo chamber.

You know how that robot crossed the country only to be destroyed when it got to Philly? Philly had it right.

I want to love it but the comedy is kinda bland

I’d prefer a less broad brush but that’s what I’m doing now

I’m blocking anyone who defends either side. Starting my own block list.

This is bs. The left should have been looking out for the working class. Instead they got GATT under Clinton and (almost) TPP under Obama. We haven’t offered anything except to make it easier to offshore jobs. Then we brushed it off because the ones who lost jobs weren’t knowledge workers.

I need it to be to that point for it to CONSUME MY FUCKING FEED! Your rhetoric is just as extreme as that of the right.
comment in response to post
We won’t. We still haven’t figured out how we’ve pushed them away.

I just want to brows news and culture without immediately being sucked into this. AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

However they DO make up <1% of the population yet somehow this subject manages to pop up in my feed a wildly disproportionate amount. It feels like I can be browsing kitten pics and somehow the fucking culture wars jump out at me.

I got so excited because I’m near Reading! Oh wait I’m in Reading, PA 🙁

As a software developer I take issue with “start from the assumption that the outputs or impacts of that system are precisely what it was designed to do”:
comment in response to post
Totally agree. Like I said, there’s tons of common ground.
comment in response to post
When you START from the position that anyone who disagrees at all is a transphobe bigot, you’re blocking any serious discussion out of the gate.
comment in response to post
There’s a huge middle section of people who aren’t transphobic but don’t see sex/gender the same way and are tired of being called names and being forced to believe things that don’t match up to our reality.
comment in response to post
These comments are such BS. They all boil down to “they’re all bigots and transphobes”.

One glaring omission in our constitution is a right to privacy. The little bits of privacy we have are the result of bending other laws to cover it or state laws. We have some protections against the government but I’m just as concerned with private companies.

“Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”. I use this phrase all the time to describe Democrat’s campaigns 😂

Nope. No decorating. No gifts. My gf and I don’t even exchange gifts. I still give my young adult kid stuff, though, because I don’t want to ruin her Xmas.

Why does anyone need to develop Africa? Haven’t we done enough damage to the northern hemisphere?
comment in response to post
I don’t know about happier but I’m definitely less stressed after ditching Xmas.

Great. More purity tests from the T community: if you don’t believe trans women should play against cis women in competitive sports you’re a fascist bigot and you obviously didn’t read the cherry-picked social science* we presented to you. *social science isn’t science
comment in response to post
I understand why people might not want kids, but I hope my daughter will
comment in response to post
Thanks for reminding me
comment in response to post
The trans community has pushed an all-or-nothing with-us-or-against-us mentality. They’ve pushed away every potential ally - everyone outside their echo chamber - whose beliefs weren’t pure enough.
comment in response to post
No room for “I want to support trans people but I don’t think trans women should compete against biological women”
comment in response to post
There was so much room for middle ground, but any dissent was met with so much vitriol. No room for “Trans people need to be protected from job discrimination and violence but I don’t see sex and gender the same way”.

I’ve been to local post mortem political meetings. We’ve learned nothing. We’re going to keep alienating most of our constituents in favor of certain special interests with extremely toxic (vote-wise) policies. We’re done.
