Nice! It’s actually almost entirely because of that show that we have EMTs and paramedics. The series premiere, I think, a two parter, dealt with the passing of the legislation that gave Johnny and Roy their jobs.

It is incumbent on all of us, if we truly honor the sacrifices the men and women in uniform have made for the idea of America, to fight against those who would break the idea of what America is supposed to stand for, for their own power and comfort at the expense of fellow citizens.

As we were reminded Sunday at the race by Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Weimer, as he reminded the members of the military, that they have taken an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND domestic (ahem).

I am lucky that my grandfathers, who fought fascism in World War II, and my father and aunts and uncles, who served in various MOSs during the Vietnam era, which was a lot more complex, were able to hang up the uniform as opposed to never, through no choice of their own, take off the uniform.
