This is unfathomably shameful. How do we even have to debate this? Why would anyone ever again be so foolish as to trust or help the United States if this is how we treat people who risk their lives on our behalf?

We kept being told that journalism was a bulwark against fascism, a "fourth estate". This is the liberal frame for perceiving the industry's worth. But the reality is the polar opposite: fascism has been allowed to thrive, and could not have done so, without journalism.

In England this stuff comes down to the Lords Not too different to anywhere else, sadly. Oddly, in NZ assisted dying was passed due to the effort of the sole member of Parl who was a Libertarian (The last good thing he did)

I feel like dynamic on Iran is being missed. Trump legit imagined he could make peace [deal he rejected 8 years ago], just like he imagined he could make peace in Ukraine, in both cases just on basis of his whatever. Putin has been exploiting that stupidity in Ukraine, & Bibi has one-upped Putin.
