Faced with these attacks, some of the Democratic policymakers and pundits who flirted with imposing meaningful taxes and regulations on billionaires and big tech have abandoned those advances. Because they don't like having to give up the perks that come with proximity to extreme wealth and power.

Re “decentralized” if their spokespeople are going on national tv taking credit for your work, and making promo videos to support their next marketing call, that’s pretty fucking centralized to me. Both orgs jumped to do that. And, if they are “decentralized,” why not speak out for Gamboa? 🤔

To anyone who still works with 50501 or Indivisible, no “organizing tools” are worth being in solidarity with orgs absolutely content to be silent while a Latino man sits in jail for a murder they facilitated. There are better people around you, find them

I think they were staging on city property (street/access road) and when they tried to enter the parking lot they were turned back. But like i said, apparently still there

Arturo's friends and band-mates are asking everyone to share this support campaign with a link to the fundraiser page. Please spread this around in your punk and DIY circles.

aha, LAT says the staging was outside the parking entrance, they were denied entry to stadium grounds, but also apparently feds are still there this is fucking awful

I think it's true (that they were denied entry, which is shocking tbh). The first images and videos are of them staging and where the activists and some pols were-kind of in the driveway/parking lot. Then they weren't allowed in the stadium, it seems

Cool, Gamboa makes people uncomfortable, the peacekeeper murdered someone. That's the difference. 🤝

Along the lines of how you know a liar is lying because their lips move, you know that when an org says they are committed to transparency they are extremely definitely not being transparent.

NEW: Another video taken at the SLC 50501 No Kings march shows Arturo Gamboa was *not* aiming his gun at the crowd when an armed volunteer recruited by the protest organizers shot him.

The thing about films like this is I desperately want other people to watch them so they understand and we can discuss but otoh I would never tell someone to watch it
