Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been reporting for weeks about this systematic killing, and today Haaretz newspaper exposed testimonies from soldiers in the Israeli military who were instructed by their commanders to open fire at unarmed crowds gathering to receive aid. This horror must stop.

It’s really black-pilling to realize that they’d absolutely be doing this to him even if the word “intifada” had never crossed his lips, purely because he Won While Muslim

this is an embarrassing thing for this guy to say in public but also touches on something that constantly rankles me, which is the vague idea of "feeling unsafe" as a problem that someone else needs to solve for you regardless of whether you are actually unsafe or not

"I know he can't hurt the Jews. I know he won't hurt the Jews. I know he doesn't want to hurt the Jews. Nevertheless I am still afraid of what he'll do to the Jews and I am upset you're not more sympathetic to my fear." Brother if you know these things what could I even say

This would've been a daily stormer thread a decade ago. Neo-nazi conspiracy theories are mainstream now.

I understand why large scale political campaigns in generally Anglophonic countries should avoid certain phrases such as "globalize the intifadah" but I refuse to pass that along without at least acknowledging the islamophonia and xenophobia that are at the core of it being not able to be used.

Short exchange that distills everything

Also they aren't scared. I am willing to bet that the majority of the Jewish vote went to Lander and Mamdani

The unhinged responses to Mamdani’s win are a good example of how often pro-Israel apologists happily downplay *the literal Nazis* out of hate towards anyone who is critical, in any way, of Israel. Quick 🧵

"What they fear is not an antisemitic mayor, but one who will symbolize the ongoing collapse of pro-Israel hegemony in the Democratic Party, and perhaps in U.S. politics more generally." Zohran Mamdani is the Democratic nominee for NYC Mayor.

Perfectly put.

Amusing to see some people on Bluesky say "if I was a gay Iranian, which I am not, I would welcome the bombing of Iran"

Just want to put out there, as I vent into the ether, that if you're someone who believes that the issues of Israel are issues of Netanyahu and the current government, you should know that Andrew Cuomo is *on Netanyahu's defense team* nypost.com/2024/11/25/u...

This is almost a libelous description of what Zohran Mamdani said, from the "Times of Israel." He did not liken the Intifada in Palestine to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. He said the fact "Intifada" has been used to translate the Ghetto Uprising into Arabic shows the semantic range of the word.

Zohran Mamdani actually gave a nuanced comment about the semantic range of the word "Intifada," which should be comprehensible to Jews upset about how the word "Zionism" can be used to mean everything from colonial land grabs to Jewish self-determination. Instead, we're making sound bites out of it.

There is a 100% valid concern of diaspora Jewish communities about being targeted as part of mobilisation and struggle for Palestine. That concern does not justify and is not answered by a clampdown on basic civic liberties.

TW: harm to children. My research into the effects of the UK government puberty-blocker ban has finally been published after peer-review. It details the severe harm being caused to young trans people & children by the Starmer government's puberty-blocker ban. Unlike Cass it is peer reviewed...

What’s been happening in the West Bank? Since Israel launched its war with Iran early Friday morning, the Israeli military has closed off the West Bank, with entrances and exits to cities and villages blocked by checkpoints, cement blocks, and metal gates. (1/4)

Life hack: there is no way to make people love you by bombing them, and if they did love you bombing them will fix that. Because, you see, there's no such thing as an attack on someone's life so legitimate that they say ‘yes, I had that coming, thank you, father.’ ...

Yesterday, we visited Tamra, the town where four Palestinian citizens of Israel were killed by an Iranian missile a few nights ago, to offer support and solidarity with those affected by the missiles. (1/5)

Half-formed thought, but I think "ChatGPT can replace your therapist" is somehow connected to the TalkSpace/BetterHelpification of therapy as digital venting session that's deeply harmful to people who actually have serious mental illness

Bibi is always one dead enemy away from making Israelis safe.

I’m alarmed by “protest safety” memes that give people no useful safety advice but instead make them terrified to do low-risk things.
