So glad you made this episode. Many of us out here, like, Rebecca said, are calling reps, protesting, boycotting, etc. We have been feeling a vast disconnect with dems in Washington. I hope Chris that you will be broadcasting from one the Bernie/AOC rallies next week talking to the attendees.

Indivisible just called for him to step down as leader.

All the best. Happy 46. Thanks for all you do.

Yes, but I do think any Democrats who vote for the CR will recognize that they grossly underestimated the rage of the Democrat and independent voters. This reminds me a lot of where republican people politicians were in 2009. which birthed the tea party.

Just did. Thanks.

It depends on which voters and which media outlets they watch/read. Many people believe we live in a post-truth world where nothing is trustworthy/believable. Laws are enforced based on the accused’s relationship to those in power. Tribal stories are all we have.

Yes. I guess we are suppose to show empathy to the man who called us “parasites”. The right applauds the firing of thousands of civil servants. Ask not what the oligarchs can do for you, but what can you do for them.

That same GDP projection showed a 3% increase in December. Wonder what’s changed???

Thank you for saying nothing.

Yet they wanna be thanked.

And to think, I’ve been “troublemaking” for free. Keep fighting. They fear our collective power.

I’m still deconstructing from this environment. It’s a real threat to women that must be vigorously opposed in all arenas of life (church, workplace, family, and government).

They’re too busy waiting in line to meet the Tate brothers.

Give up your seats to civil servants, VA staff, aid workers, and anyone else that has been wrongly fired. Make them face them. To see the humanity of the people Musk calls “parasites “.

Thank you. The strongest response we have is to show the humanity of others. This is anathema/kryptonite to MAGA fascism and its dehumanizing agenda. We are all interconnected. What happens to her can happen to us

That’s because they being morally bankrupt see everything as transactional. No one could possibly be showing up because of their beliefs or values. This is easily proven. talk to the attendees

Their new excuse is that the other town halls were filled with paid agitators. This is of course nonsense. You can hold town halls without them. Speak out to an empty chair or cut out. It can be very effective.

The media more than ever needs to make us see each other’s humanity. Anything that makes us see or feel more fully human is anathema/kryptonite to the dehumanizing agenda of Trump/Musk. Why do think they want us to see empathy as a sin?

The carnality and moral bankruptcy so proudly on display here. He’s rubbing it in the face of evangelicals. Daring them to follow the Jesus of the Bible and not him. He even includes the idolatry “golden calf”. Sad.

Why doesn’t anyone ask about the regressive nature of the tax cuts? Why do the top brackets get a considerably higher percentage than the others? Why aren’t the percentage cuts equal? Between 1.3% for the Bottom 80% won’t even keep up with inflation??
comment in response to post
Ok. So if that happens (no dem votes) it will be nice to see dems finally try to catch up to where the rest us have been for 3 weeks now. They need to get in touch with their voters and stop trying to lead from behind. This isn’t a time for a pedestrian book tour from the minority leader.

They should hold out for more $

This is also seen in how the US is now approaching foreign policy. It’s not that we are switching sides it’s that we want an every country for themselves approach. Where in a winner takes all world only a few major powers control all the resources both natural and human.

At first, I had a similar take on this, however choosing sides would reflect a set values that were shared by both sides. But I can’t find that with either Trump or Putin. They share a love for power, control, admiration, and money. Every decision is based on a transactional nihilistic self-interest

I really don’t understand why they even bother having inconsequential GOP senators/reps on these shows. Musk & Trump are the only voices that count from the right. Nobody cares what they say. They are non-factor sycophants.

I hope you’re a prophet

This will become the dehumanizing workplace culture for private companies as well. This is part of what Zuckerberg meant by a more “masculine “ energy in corporate culture. We are all interconnected. What happens to civil servants can happen to us.

This management style is intended to be a model of what this regime wants to see permeate throughout our culture. For the people celebrating what's being done to these so-called bureaucrats. They failed to understand the image of those sitting behind the president at the inauguration.

I share this sentiment. Whether it’s the “what leverage do we have” or the pedestrian nature of his book tour. I don’t see either Jeffries or Schumer ready to meet this moment. They must step down and be replaced with leadership that has a sense of urgency. And like Bernie knows how to rally people.

How any representative can stand in front of their constituents, knowing they’ve handed over every person there personal information to a morally bankrupt billionaire who called them “parasites “ is beyond me.
comment in response to post
That’s why they staged the releases so early in the process. To bury it in the avalanche of outrageous acts that follow. Don’t let them. Keep digging it up for all to see. I think we should demand they be registered and tracked like sex offenders for our safety.

We also need to audit the billionaire class for waste, fraud and abuse. Let the $ we find there fund their tax cut.

The faux family values party gave a morally bankrupt billionaire all of our personal financial information. He refers to us as “parasites“ then wants a tax cut. We need to audit the billionaires class for waste, fraud and abuse.
