[smacking my book's hood] Yep, this baby is 100% natural intelligence!

YEP, that is accurate.

Don't worry—I don't think there were enough lawns for me to mow to be in contention.

I endorse this message.

Hell yeah!

Yeah, that's the latter not the former.

Before I stake out a position, are we talking moon lunar or moon butts?

Related, somehow

Before those of you who like messy stuff get excited, it's not an overly confessional book. It's more so that my cousins don't need to know about anyone's interior life.

Yeah, a lot of the funny folks especially just fully deleted their accounts. That was one reason I was an early adopter here. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Probably all the charm and good looks, I imagine.

YEP. I dislike the social media scolds too, but I also still understand where they're coming from. When everything sucks, it's human nature to shout "HEY EVERYTHING SUCKS."

Me feeling guilty for wanting to talk about the NBA or my book coming out is not Bluesky's fault. That is on the Republicans.

"this place where everyone talks about how much everything sucks sucks!" But have you considered that maybe it's just that everything sucks leaving us precious little to talk about?
comment in response to post
Bingo.

But Bluesky? S'fine.
comment in response to post
That's not Bluesky's fault. It is, however, in some part Facebook & Twitter et als' fault. It is in incomprehensibly large part Fox News's fault.

That's new. Progressive friends for a decade now have been largely unable to avoid politics when hanging out for drinks or whatever. I don't have many Republican friends anymore, but the ones who are left now get there quickly too.

Like, I was chatting with a deeply politically conservative friend recently, and even he started ranting about the need for a change in political direction mere moments after running into each other.

It's all fun and games until you realize why you love "Here Comes a Regular" so much.

Man, I could do worse than "Mitch Nobis, the lucky doofus of the online poet community."
comment in response to post
My friends are certainly amazing. I'm just a lucky doofus.

You're the best, my friend!

Ahem and whatnot.

Hey by the way, welcome to new followers here for basketball. Heads up I'm a writer (like, creative not sports beat), so look out, you're getting hoops AND poetry, my new dawgs!

(We had good turnout. It's just a classic Metro Detroit sprawl thing where it was really spread out, so instead of one massive one we had tons of good medium ones.)
comment in response to post
Shoooot, wishing we'd had much bigger turnouts around Metro Detroit when you put it that way...

I'm really just still rooting for 7 games more than anything. So yeah, go Indy in Game 6!

Just got to tell my wife that Siakam's nickname is Spicy P, so this is a great moment in Nobis life.
