Your mom is awesome. Reddit thread warning people "don't go alone" Get outa here with that. You'll be surrounded by thousands of like-minded people with the RARE chance of some Magat driving a car into a march. GO! Now is the time to stand up! No cowering at your house. RESIST, people.

It's juiced my attendance at even fringe protests this week that I'd never have attended before. There's a family event conflicting with No Kings in Chicago and I will do everything I can to at least be there during part of it.

Right?!?! Masking at outdoor Grant Park Symphony....masking at the ICE protest Tuesday night. Anti razor-blade throat is enough of a reason. Not to mention a thumb in the eye of djt.

Absolute same.

We are a divided couple. One does and one immediately switches it to manual.

The way I read this holding my breath… you two were awesome in the really bad early Covid days. Glad she was just punishing you. :-)

Will you not think of the need to police the Top Golf parking lot???

With the added benefit of not being in Texas when you walk out the door.

Thank you, Ms Ifill. Many people posting in response are negative about your take but if we don't celebrate small things it is even harder to maintain the resistance. Resist. Keep fighting.

Indeed. If time travel existed and one could go back and make a change that would save the US from our current disasters he would be the guy to direct the butterfly wings towards.

Thanks for the kind words. I wear a fit-tested N95 or elastomeric 100% in public indoor spaces. I do not mask when very well distanced outdoors and avoid outdoor scenarios that are of "ambiguous" risk as those can be hard to set boundaries.

In my area of downtown Chicago there isn't another big box option but I've worked around my previous bi-weekly browse and shop. Haven't / won't set foot in the State Street or Streeterville stores again.

Have you looked into Novavax? You and your doctors are likely way ahead of me but I do want to say that it gives me no reaction. The mRNA ones made me very ill but the protein based Nova - not at all.

Alternative take....people who get those 'birds in flight' emails. It surprised me that the Wrigley Building was fully lit up last night.

....thanks...I guess...for sending me to Instagram so I could see that bathtub.

Yesterday I complimented a young person for counseling us not to engage angrily with those pushing back as they walked past the Tesla Takedown. OTOH - I'd be fine with lying in the street and setting things on fire. Gray haired newly radicalized here.

Same - in December. Chicago Michigan Avenue employees were universally super smart and helpful with selection and with transferring everything from old Mac to new. Added bonus - taco truck recommendation.

More details here: Prevost’s paternal grandfather is from Haiti and his paternal grandmother’s name was Baque. His family switched racial identities when they moved north. www.nola.com/news/first-a...

Interesting time to have launched a re-watch of "The Americans" Yes - it could happen here.

When I switch over to WGN around 8:50 ahead of their 9 p.m. news block I cringe if it's wrestling. Who knew that was actually the BEST thing I'd see/hear for ten minutes. (Actually just changed channels as fast as lightning.)

wow: alder brendan reilly suggests that anti-trump protests will break out this summer and says police need the curfew ordinance to crack down on it. proponents have repeatedly maintained it wouldn't be used for speech protected by the first amendment.

Some pictures from Biden’s last year in office to illustrate the point:

They have absolutely no hesitation in saying one of the common slurs I heard growing up in the South in the 1960s.
