Always the Democrats fault.

Remember when the voters didn’t give Schumer a majority in the Senate?

Such a genius. Titan of finance.

Where’s Nora O’Donnell to make sure everyone knows that’s what Trump said.

Trump brought to you by Conservative Think Tank.

He advocated for it. It’s his fault.

They can’t admit they were wrong. That’s why big financial guys aren’t on Fox hyperventilating. They voted for the for tax cuts. Irony is that you don’t have income you don’t pay taxes. But no capital appreciation which is magnitudes bigger.
comment in response to

Trump may soon have to stockpile ventilators for Wall Street if this continues.

Fox was probably still reporting on the speed cams that were installed in San Francisco where low income speeders will have lower fines. Muy importante.
comment in response to

At least they’ll get their tax cuts. They counted on keeping their much larger capital appreciation though. Probably can’t have both.

There could have been a true embarrasement yet thousands of Dems who voted in November didn’t bother to show up.

141k voted for Valmont in 2024. Where are all those who decided it wasn’t important to show up today?
comment in response to

Would have been nice if all the 143,050 Dems who voted in 2024 voted this time. Guess 60k didn’t feel it was important enough.

Let’s stop with the democracy is dead talk. This is how Americans voice their approval and disapproval and they still believe this is how it’s done. This also shows that elections are not rigged.
comment in response to

Before the election egg prices were the reason we needed to change presidents. Now folks are asked to sacrifice their retirement savings.

People who are saying that free and fair elections are over or are soon over need to stop it.
comment in response to

If all it takes is 2 months to be almost over then I guess it’s almost over. But folks don’t go to the streets here in the US like in other countries because we have elections which can change things. If elections go away then how the people will respond will be paramount.
comment in response to
post
Or close to over. I think this is kind of self defeating. We have to accept that we’re in a different and unfamiliar environment but that doesn’t mean our country is almost over. We have to fight for our values in elections and not make it seem like we’re practically doomed.

America is not close to over. Just because Trump people say stuff doesn’t make it so.

Dems don’t do government shutdowns. I don’t consider this a huge win for Trump. We need to focus on getting Dems to vote in these special elections and going around saying Dems are useless isn’t going to help that on April 1.
comment in response to

You think Dems would be able to stop things in their tracks and never concede?
comment in response to
post
That’s the nature of the position. No Senate leader would be popular.
comment in response to

Keep promulgating the notion that the Dems hold all the cards because they could have in this one instance invoked the filibuster. I mean blame all the bad stuff on Dems and ignore the fact that if voters had given the party the House we wouldn’t be in this situation. That would be too unexciting.
comment in response to
post
I’m sure he would have been so gracious to not use all the benefits of a shutdown to blame Dems. Keep focusing on the real enemy, Dems. I’m sure that will help us all. Just have a MAGA uni-party and get it over with.
comment in response to
post
It wouldn’t have mattered from a political standpoint would be the best outcome I guess because the Dems would have to filibuster for years. When Reps had to lose to Dems I’m sure they wanted to fight but guess what? Their base had their back in elections in ways Dems could only dream of in 24
comment in response to
post
So the Dems would have to filibuster for 4 years on a budget to fund the government 9 months? Where do you think this I headed? We have 4 years for fighting. I’d rather be in the majority in 2 years but folks just want to bash Dems at every turn and doing MAGA’s job for them.
comment in response to
post
OMG. The voters gave them the majorities they need to do what they want. You’re spreading a false narrative that the Dems have power when they don’t. A bill was passed to continue government funding at levels Dems would never pursue if they controlled Congress.
comment in response to
post
Wouldn’t the whole point of Musk blaming a shutdown on Dems require the Dems to shut down the govt? I mean it’d be harder to justify blaming Dems if he’s openly telling Reps to vote against the government funding bill.
comment in response to
post
The ire towards Schumer is like taking an AR-15 and aiming it at your feet. Don’t know how people got to believing that the Dems had a plethora of options after kicking them out of power.
comment in response to
post
That would defeat the idea that the Dems did it. Kinda needs to look like he had no part in it.
comment in response to
post
Because they can’t sustain a shutdown and the base will blame Dems for everything which is the sentiment reflected in your anger. New voters will be confused and will just as easily blame “feckless” Dems rather than reckless Republicans.
comment in response to
post
Yes you found the main problem. The country will see the light and vote for…Trump. Time to stop the twisted logic and realize Dems lost power. Government shutdown would have made you feel better but likely would have given Trump and Musk what they want to axe more of the Federal Government.
comment in response to
post
Dems don’t do government shutdowns. The bill was bad but left the party with no good options. This is what losing power does. Puts our side in lose-lose situations so folks take all the anger out on the only party they think they can hurt.
comment in response to
post
Ultimately the voters were “complicit.” 10 Dem senators not wanting to see folks suffer isn’t akin to anything resembling a MAGA “takeover.” Let’s focus on winning the special elections. It’s the only way.
comment in response to
post
What I want to see is every Democrat voting in these special elections. Thays the only way we stop a lot of the damage. But yeah, yell at the Dems who the voters gave no power to veto anything.
comment in response to
post
Did you see what happened in the election? MAGA paid no price for their intransigence yet the Dem base punished Biden and Harris for not being pure enough or whatever enough.
comment in response to
post
I’d like to see a more diligent Dem base that votes for Dems no matter what. The base fractured this cycle and the ramifications have been seismic. Folks acting like the choice was between Biden and a younger “better” Dem. The only other option was Trump.

No
comment in response to

Yeah I’m sure the country would have realized that they are to blame instead of blaming Dems who don’t have government shutdowns in their DNA.
comment in response to
post
Yeah that’s the spirit. Friendly fire. Wonderful.
comment in response to
post
Well bashing Dems is a choice. It’s too bad the voters and the Dem base won’t have the Dem’s back when it come time to vote because that’s the source of all of what’s happening. But yeah, let’s let MAGA off the hook and pretend the Dems hold all the cards.
comment in response to
post
Fine, but focusing on the Democratic Party erroneously feeds a narrative that they are in power or have veto power over what Trump is doing. Neither is the case.
comment in response to
post
We have the chance in special and midterm elections to turn the tide. All and I mean ALL Democrats need to vote whenever given the chance. No excuse like it’s only April or I wasn’t aware.
comment in response to

And this is CNN lol
comment in response to
post
The point is that the option isn’t a different Democrat. So one could keep bashing Dems all day but they are the ones successful at getting elected. Like I said, we can continue the discussion when these fantasy Dems actually win. Otherwise we need to look at what Dems who do win are doing.

I would be fine with Hill Harper. If he were “better” then he would have won the primary and the general. Come back to me when he proves that, not just in some fantastical thinking.
