I'll be honest, I rarely pay any attention to ratings and/or comments for that very reason. Gave up years ago on Goodreads. I suppose I miss out on conversations, but at the same time I miss pile on (positive and negative) so... net positive for me.

Not disagreeing because I think you are most likely correct. However there is another meaningful difference in that he was first and she was second and I can imagine some frustration with the repeated story beat. Still in that case the ire would be most appropriately be directed towards Disney

Yeah I've noticed an uptick in people following who have no reason to, however are all just thirst trap photos with vaguely similar politics and politics. Earns a quick block.

Sometimes though I don't think that is necessary. In my view a dedication is sort of a scribble on the wall, a personal or group language that might be understandable, might not be, and wholly between author and the dedicatee, a group I'm not in. A momentary message viewed with bemusement.

For that matter I always read dedications as well though they are frequently more cryptic. Every now and then there's a clear inside joke that I'm not privy to that makes me wonder what the story is behind the comment.

I always read them. There's a lot of people who are involved in the creation of the book and I witness the names.
Details about the story either in genesis or execution are even better.
I always liked @stephenking.bsky.social 's "Constant Reader" bits as well.

I have seen a package out there to add some utility for using org for encounter design. I don't play myself though so never pursued it further and was just a curiosity. I don't imagine it would be difficult to create a basic outline view of a character sheet.

imagine if someone promised human cloning then handed you an animatronic baby, and when you pointed out it was a robot covered in rubber, they told you the technology would improve, while someone from WIRED wrote an article about how they believed it was a baby

I dunno. I like 372 Pages We'll Never Get Back and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. I suspect I'm not what you're looking for.

I remember being very puzzled about the writ of mandamus when there was talk about that during the classified documents case. I think I figured it by context but maybe there's something to consider if it's interesting enough
