It was cooler when nobody knew or cared who directed Bond films.

TIL Chuck Schumer is actually younger than my parents. I've thought he was over 80 for the last 20 years.

What's a poster you had in your room growing up?

That’s so sad, Alexa play Despacito

I think I've liked more posts in my feed tonight than any other night since I joined Bluesky. The skeets are ok!

Ballot breakdowns will come, but it's clear that "Don't Rank Cuomo" is one of the most effective slogans ever devised. The fact that multiple candidates joined together to beat the drum made it even stronger. God, I wish we had RCV everywhere else.

I soured on political polling in 2016 and 2020 and virtually ignored them in 2024. Tell me I'm wrong to do it.

If you're a member of the Democratic gerontocracy, the chances of you catching a primary challenger just went up 1000%.

Bill Clinton please endorse my enemies

I put approximately three minutes of thought into this by taking a quick scan of my highest ratings on Letterboxd and juggling genres, geographical diversity, and recalled emotions. Not a serious exercise in any way.

We're a fucking disgrace, no doubt about it.

I have not clicked play on this so I don't know if the title is sarcastic or not, but lol

We had a chance A YEAR AGO to finally put this motherfucker behind bars after an entire lifetime of shameless criminality, and, instead, we let him skate right back into the Oval Office. How them eggs taste now?

Would love to see just *one* legacy media outlet prove me wrong. Instead we’ve gone from the liberal media merely sniffing his farts to entirely sustaining themselves on nothing but said farts. The only difference between 2003 and now is the speed, we’re doing in hours what once took months.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people: 1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money 3) We won’t need a lot of troops 4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq 5) We’ll find WMDs 6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators 7) It will be easy 8) It won’t take long All lies.

There are Democrats in both houses of congress who desperately want to reduce the harm of this administration—some, not many, but some—and leadership is doing everything possible minimize their efforts. This will either be a true inflection point, or it will be the reason I lose my fuckin mind.

Netanyahu has spent the better part of two decades trying to strong arm the United States into an unprovoked war against Iran and finally found a president stupid enough to do it for him. Unbelievable.

#LetterboxdFriday | #LastFourWatched #Filmsky | boxd.it/2SnHf Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939) ★★★½ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) [rw] ★★★½ The Devil's Stairway (1964) ★★★½ Jaws (1975) [rw] ★★★★ Squeezed one last viewing of Jaws in before it turns 50 today. Still as good as it's ever been. ㅤ

I was prepping my last four watched post for later, which includes both Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Jaws, and I fantasy swapped Roy Scheider for Paul Newman as Chief Brody. We all agree Scheider killed it in Jaws (literally), but picture Newman, cigarette dangling, and saying the bigger boat line.

Happy to report a list I followed a long ass time ago has already blocked JD Vance on my behalf. I love this place.

block first when you see one of these guys block first here in the blue blue skies save your dunks for later tip your waiter block first

The Born to Run performance bit at the end looked okay, but I rolled my eyes so hard at the rest of this they almost got stuck.

@ologies.bsky.social I legit cackled out loud at my desk just now at the Shawshank drops.

Good information on, well, not such good information.

Imagine murking Ted Cruz and still being that unlikable.

I'm not a "content creator" on Youtube, so I have a question for anyone who is. Do they send out a prompt along the lines of "you should upload more shorts?" Because there are times during the year where I have to hide dozens of them at a time on my subscription page instead of just one or two.

My dad bought a VCR early on (a bulky top loader deal), even before the couple video stores in town had much inventory. That's how I saw Papillon with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman way too young.

When Sam told Diane "Have a great life" on Cheers, she wasn't seen again in that world for the better part of a decade. We should be so lucky.

My current watch wish that seems just out of reach is 2019's Nocturne. It's not in any of the usual spots, and maybe not even on disc, and it isn't offered with subtitles on Dutch streamers. If anyone can locate it, lmk. ty!

#LetterboxdFriday | #LastFourWatched #Filmsky | boxd.it/2SnHf The Inferno (1979) ★★★½ The Boy and the Wind (1967) ★★★★ The Wolf House (2018) ★★★★½ The Green Knight (2021) ★★★½ No disappointments this week, and I may be ruminating on The Wolf House, in particular, for a long time. ㅤ

Whoa!! Thank you!!

I think it’s a huge misconception we need a single app that grows infinitely and makes everyone happy. This is a “business” mindset. And that model has consistently failed. It’s also driven families apart. This is Threads model now and it’s a censorship machine. I’m good with the community we have.
