Certainly it's cheaper for them to pay for vaccines than to pay for medical treatment for the diseases they prevent.

Reminds me of my ex-husband. When the kids misbehaved, he said he was "not happy". Meanwhile the effective discipline (involving trying to understand them and deal with their issues) was left to me.

Thanks! Just reserved it from my library.

Charlie Kirk has a wife?

Organizers need to be careful about "peacekeepers". At the small protest in a small town I went to they handed out vests to anyone who asked for one. No vetting, no training. Nothing bad happened but I was appalled when I saw it.

We sang that in Derry, too, but I didn't film it.

I met Paul Newman at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. He went to the same college as my dad and I told him that. He said he remembered my dad but I think that was a lie.

My 99 year old dad was also a Marine in WWII. Unfortunately his brain has been Foxed. He told me the other day sending Marines to LA would "fix things up." He's a lost cause so I'm marching for my grandhildren.

I'll never stop being thankful that my son convinced me to go vegan 6 years ago.

I’ve lived in 3 states and have never had an unpleasant experience with the DMV. What’s up with all the other states?

When my son was little I was so worried about him mistaking pokewood berries for blueberries I went on an absolute rampage getting rid of the stuff! I never had the nerve to try the leaves.

My son in law had to go teach in person while his kids (one with a medical condition so very cautious about Covid) stayed home for remote instruction. It was really scary pre-vaccine!
comment in response to post
Many teachers were working twice as hard. Schools here opened in fall 2020 but parents were given the option of remote. So teachers had to figure out how to do both simultaneously.

I so agree! Every time I see "masculine" characteristics listed, I think those are characteristics shared by women as well. No one thought in these terms when I was growing up (a long time ago).
comment in response to post
huh, I thought they were synonyms. Now I gotta google!

Yeah, he's the guy that said the Covid vaccine contained creatures with tentacles or something.

Well, he's right, they ARE going to turn it around, unfortunately.

Does anybody really watch those Substack Live thingys? I get emails all day long about them but never watch (I'm a curmugeon about video, I always read transcripts instead, but I don't even seek transcripts on those things). I'm retired; how would working people ever be able to see them?

I hope they put all the AI on separate devices so I can just not buy one and use my computer the way I always have.

Wow, you're not even allowed to be an atheist in a foxhole any more.

lol, hope you feel better soon. Sleep is good for what ails you, probably.

Thank you for sharing this. I just donated.

The reason it is worded this way is that explicit corruption is very hard to prove. And our current Supreme Court has made it even more so.

The Emoluments Clause does not require that the gift be bribery or corrupt. It requires Congress to approve "...any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

I think this is spot on. I remember having a visceral reaction when I heard that on the news. I immediately thought that was the cue to stop taking seriously any meaningful response to the pandemic.

It's possible they've chosen Massachusetts because of our strict gun regulations.

I mean, the whole idea is just preposterous.

Same. I keep looking for verification that she's really out.

I know someone on deployment with that carrier group and they've been there a long time and are probably sick and tired and want to come home to their wives and children.

At some point between when my dad graduated from law school (1951) and when I did (1982), they changed the degree from LLB to JD.

Some kids are just born nice. My grandson is like that, still, at age 16! (Not to deflect from your parenting, which I assume is superb as well.)

I guess they rescinded the grants because classical music is un-American.

I loved James! Everett was a new author to me, and I'll definitely seek out his other books.

what is a "biological reservation"?

Why did the interviewer keep trying to change the subject? He really botched the "no clothes" moment!

Gotta love NH, where guns are worshipped but teachers can't teach real history and hate is unleashed on the two trans girls who just want to play with their friends.

I am offended by garish displays of religious symbols, especially by public servants.

And I can be offended by it.
