Like many communities, I think the flaws of the rationalists are well-known but their strengths less so. Rationalists, to me, are very good at keeping promises. Many people like this trait, even if they wouldn't run an anonymous survey on how honourable they are.

I endorse the Tony Blair Institute, or at least what it seems to be. If I had governed a medium-sized developed nation, then I would want to try and solve a problem in the world. And poorly governed nations are a problem. Neglected and at scale. Is it tractable? To Tony, maybe.
