It's Independent Bookshop Week. Ways you can support them: -Don't browse a little bookshop, make a mental note of titles, then get them on Amazon. Buy the books then and there! Dare you! -Get them to order books in, they almost always can. -Just march in and present them with a huge bag of money.

I've recently started reading a lot of stuff on Royal Road, all one universe with lots of authors. However, the next fanfic in that universe is on Scribble Hub, and the interface there leaves a lot to be desired compared to Royal Road.

One of the webcomics recently had a comic where a character doubted the existence of bisexuals. The author followed this up with a blog post that also denied the existence of bisexuals. In 2025, people still think this stupid shit, and I don't understand.

Hey, @dreamborn.ink, not sure where you like your suggestions, but it'd be great if closing out of a card preview didn't reset the scroll on the Cards page. Alternatively, move the price of the card so it doesn't block text, or let us turn off the price display entirely.

I completed NaNoWriMo two years in a row (probably a decade ago now), and right now I have a story wedged in my brain so hard I've had to excise it into a Google Doc. And let me just say: I still suck at writing. I don't share my NaNoWriMos, and I was appalled by how bad the new one is.

Yesterday's Mira Grant (@seananmcguire.bsky.social) signing of Overgrowth, at Skylight Books, only contained one Screwfly fact and I was told not to ask for more. Of course, then I embarrassed myself and mis-remembered when the cliffhanger was in October Daye. Overall a great time, though.

Sounds like @duckworth.senate.gov does not actually support trans rights. "Compromise" doesn't work when the other side is advocating for eradicating people they don't like. There is no compromise to be made when it comes to bigotry. Either you oppose them full stop, or you are them.

So, I sort of got the writing itch again. I had this Sci-Fi LitRPG idea in the back of my brain and had to force it out. I wrote the first chapter about a week and a half ago, and ever since I've just been berating myself for how bad it is.
