Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids. Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

Let us be reminded that the original "new" One Piece run was confirmed by Jason Demarco as having "Been failing for several years" back during the first Q&A session they did. The ONLY reason why it came back was because Toei cut them a deal on the cheap cause they "really wanted it back on TV"

Yeah, but a potato isn't a tomato, and a tomato isn't a tomato, even though they both come from the same botanical family. There are hybrid plants that have tomatoes growing on the top and potatoes serving as the roots, but that's a whole other conversation. www.seattletimes.com/life/tomato-...

Netflix Does What Adult Swon't.

Yeah... but Crunchyroll isn't a monopoly. They're an oligarchy. There are several distributors, broadcasters, retailers, and producers of anime beyond Crunchyroll. Yes, Crunchyroll controls a vast majority of the anime marketplace, but they're not a monopoly because they don't control ALL of it.

It's not about CN/AS having balls or brains. It's about having money & access. And even if CN/AS had the money to air One Piece in primetime, Crunchyroll's not going to let them. Hell, it took a lot of arm-wringing from Toei to get Crunchyroll to even allow Toonami to AIR it in the first place.

I love the show but Barney Miller was the first comedy to show police as competent. Not only that but tolerant and liberal. In the 80’s crime shows went from private detectives to police, & Law & Order was the first legal drama to have the prosecution as the heroes instead of the defense.

A pretty good read about the divide about Toonami's original series in the fandom and Hollywood media and the real world. Perception is a hell of a thing, and on most occasions, social media isn't real life.

This is the only meme you need.

The Static Shock episode "Flashback" debuted on this day (June 7) in 2003! This great third season episode, written by John Semper Jr., sees a metahuman with the ability to time-travel sending Virgil to the past so he can get a chance to see his mother again! #StaticShock #Static

I speak somewhat good Northern Redneck due to my father being a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band bassist... *ahem* "Good sir! I take personal offense to your evaluation of Robert James Ritchie! Do you not see his accrued value?! You should listen to disco instead for you are clearly a homosexual!"

Believe me, I'm not telling people to be happy. I know this world can sap the life out of you, kick you in the teeth, and take selfies with a smile on their face while they're doing it. I know this world will make you hate everyone in it, including yourself. I know it's not easy to *just* be happy.

I feel like this... It's really easy to be perpetually angry at everything and vent about things you hate. But instead of doing that, maybe talk about and celebrate things you love with that much gusto. And do that more often. Especially to save your mental health. That hate will sap your soul.

Ahh Eee Ohh... a killer cover of The Beets' Killer Tofu from @skatunenetwork.bsky.social just dropped. A ska-flavored take that kind of feels a bit like The B-52's, a wonderful tune from JER. They knocked it out of the park. Doug and Skeeter would dig it too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncJB...

I LOVE PBS AND NPR. Don’t let Congress vote to defund OUR public media next weeek. Speak out NOW. It is URGENT. Visit protectmypublicmedia.org #pbs #NPR #protectmypublicmedia #publicmedia

Well, I'll be dipped. This preschool-oriented take on Tom and Jerry actually was released, and as you can see, it was on Boomerang UK. Goes to show you that the international side of Cartoon Network is a fully-functioning machine that will put stuff out everywhere, including on YouTube.

tell 'em, Ollie

Maybe its a good idea to start being a little more sincere on the internet. Scary.

Speaking of FAST Channels, I noticed my Fire TV added some channels this weekend, as they're prone to do on most weekends. They added FAST channels dedicated to The Practice, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Pokémon, the latter of which had been a Pluto TV exclusive back in the fall. Fun '90s stuff.

Hey @nemalki.bsky.social, u may look at this. A Tardis at America’s heartland.
