Also - and really most importantly - the Democrats need to believe in something the majority of people care about and stand for it. Stop trying to make everyone happy in every moment and find candidates who can sell big changes people want and will notice.

I think it just depends on the damage. I'm not even assuming we'll have legitimate elections in 26 at this point.
One thing I know is that the Democrats need to start thinking about how to win actual votes from actual voters whether that is perfectly palatable to urban progressives or not.

At this rate I expect a blue tsunami, but at this rate I don't know what the country will even look like in two years.

Poland won't sit still. God willing Germany and France won't sit still.
I have no doubt that Trump has plans (or possibly orders from Moscow) to backstab NATO in case of an invasion into the Baltic states.
As an American, let me say I'm sorry that my country is poised to betray central Europe.

We're not just compromising Ukraine—we're writing the script for future aggressors. China sees a green light for Taiwan. North Korea learns that nuclear threats pay dividends. And Russia? They're discovering that patience and brutality eventually wear down Western support.

Yes, and let me explain two axioms I have regarding this, and one conclusion:
1: Some people just believe whatever makes them comfortable.
2: Those people are most people.
Ergo: We're fucked.

Sorry Mark, we believe posting a paywalled Guest Essay on the NY Times website is still the best way to communicate with the common man.
