I've been reading Triangle Era Superman (1990-1991) and the biggest stand out is that Metropolis is a character.
There is a recession, news strikes, strike breakers, and a whole lot of things that would be happening if Superman didn't live there.
the 2020s version is all seen through a Super lens.
