The Hero Killers story was first reprinted in 2012 so yes that could be! If you liked that, you should definitely check out the rest of the series.

I think @brandonseifert.info was one of the first people I was talking to at the time who called out a lot of this stuff way back when an email mailing list was how some people actually talked about this stuff.

I gave it too much benefit of the doubt for way too long. It's got Steve McNiven art and a lot of shiny lights to distract from foundational weaknesses in plot and character. Never mind the discrepancies of the in-universe mechanics of the law between the mini-series and the tie-ins.

So many people seem afraid to use proper nouns. It drives me crazy. Name the thing you are talking about!

My understanding is it's mostly unrelated and dealing with the original Golden Age Sandman. I've also heard nothing but good things and have long wanted to read it. I can't imagine there would be any royalties tying back to the writer of the "other" Sandman.

@welcome2geektown.com's Speedball Detector must be on the fritz. It's been 2 minutes and he hasn't liked my Speedball post.

That must've really hurt. Was there any notice to admins or was it just gone one random day?

People complain about the constant relaunching and renumbering but in the '90s they just started making up numbers, throwing in letters, using symbols. It was anarchy!

I loved that site. I hope the owner got a lot for it but it’s a shame all that info was lost.

Probably the first site to try to work out reading orders, The Marvel Chronology Project doesn't look like it's been updated since July 2023. But its influence looms large even today.

The League of Comic Geeks is the youngest site here but they have grown fast with an extensive database created by a thriving community and its own social media feed.

In case you're not familiar with these sites, here are some links.
The Marvel Database isn't official (none of these sites are) but they update fast and tend to be very thorough.

Ooh thanks for mentioning Hardware! I remembered it late last night but then fell asleep and forgot. I'll take a look at those other two also. Thanks for checking it out!

I can kind of see why people were thinking the sky was falling for comics

After a kind of lackluster week last week, it seems like no comics from Marvel were released at all this week in 1995. Maybe they took a week off in preparation of migrating to Heroes World?

I knew this was bugging me and I couldn't figure out why. It turns out I'm a big dummy. I was thinking of early Karl Kerschl, not Karl Kesel. Both wonderful creators.
