And sure, readers can say what they want. I don't generally read reviews, unless professionally written. But when I stumble on something negative, I have an opinion, which I usually keep to myself. In this case I don't mind sharing the ridiculousness. More pubbed folks should defend themselves.

I just read what I wrote and it sounds dismissive. Sorry about that. I do appreciate your words!

There is that, sure. There is also continued gatekeeping against people of color. And then there are editors who have very narrow views of color, and of which literature (and which author personalities) they'll tap to represent. It continues to be very skewed. Too much for a bluesky post convo.

My agent is likely tired of sending it out. No idea really. All I know: that book is more important to me than any horror novel I could ever write. Publishing is so strange. So weird to want to stop writing because of rejection over some words. I'm usually such a fighter. Not feeling very feisty.

Maybe that’s how I was feeling, so it just felt like unbearable overload . . .

That’s the other I read! And yeah, it’s like, I’m going to do a craft study of what I think will best help my writing. S.A.’s work grants me permission in some ways, and also, his crafting of character captures the grittiness and vulnerability of men in unique ways. I must unseal the craft-code.

Hope that doesn't change. These big companies, though. They say one thing, then sell their wares, then the user experience goes sideways. Here's to hoping they stick to their guns!

Right, agree. getting away from feeling and being force-fed, is freeing.

So, basically it is an algorithm-based service that allows us to create and follow feeds. Twitter did something similar as far as feeds, and of course, hashtag usage, and hashtag searchability, but then Twitter got realllly wonky, and ad-based, and we all know about its kingpin.

It has a standard algorithm of showing us a feed of reverse order posts related to how we follow others. Also, some of its verbiage relates to the site being algorithm-based, but that users can create their own as well, or follow others.

I don't even expect a text. Maybe your friend will text me too, tell me that I didn't like one of my cousin's photos. haha

So, I am researching. Yes, I see that we can create algorithms, sort of. But it does have a default algorithm that it doesnt call an algorithm, though it is.
