what i see is a white house whose ambitions outstrip its resources, who did not count on facing mass resistance, and which is scrambling to escalate the situation in hopes that a display of force will make people shut up

Is he just secretly Jewish the way that FDR was really Frank Rosenfeld or something insane like that?

I respect that. I have a small trans flag that I’m going to attach to my larger flagpole for the next protest I go to. Solidarity!

For me personally I think that’s totally fine. It’s nice when we can show how we’re united even when we all come from different backgrounds.

Yeah, I’ve decided that I’ve had my fill of the “what flags NOT to bring” conversation today because it’s going off the rails. So I’m just going to agree with Whoopi and say “bring more American flags” and leave it at that.

"In the american political system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the democrats, who are the only ones with agency; and the republicans, who we do not talk about."

Right, I think I’m landing on an approach of “Mexican flags are fine, but it would admittedly be for the best if American flags clearly outnumbered them.”

Not necessarily - I think I was reading on here the other day that one of Orban’s approaches was to demonize the cosmopolitan types in Budapest much the same way

With the caveat that this was movie Gandhi and not, so far as I know, an actual quote, but I liked his character’s summation: “ I don’t believe in passive anything. Our resistance must be active and provocative.”

Ha, well I guess it’s mostly self-explanatory - but OoT’s use of music, cinematic cutscenes, and character development showed the potential for what mainstream gaming could achieve as an art form in the same way that Sgt. Pepper’s did for rock.

Ooh, is this the time to jump in with my “Ocarina of Time is the Sgt. Pepper’s of video games” take?!

I've long since given up on getting one side of the family to visit NYC. I had specific itineraries even planned out based on different people's interests... but nope, this is the place where a random person wearing a blue shirt in Rockefeller Center will still get mobbed by Bloods or something

Driving around the South Shore of Long Island to the mall or the doctor or whatever and I will absolutely see multiple Irish and Italian flags flying from houses
