the modal protestor is going to be a retired elementary school teacher in a big sun hat who wears her little-old-ladydom like armor. it is true that there are risks but the risks are not especially large.

We know what we have to do to save our city from Andrew Cuomo. We're cross endorsing 🤝 @bradlander.bsky.social

“Ciafone”

These are the people who have presumably never had a total stranger tell them that it’s ok for prominent Black people to be murdered because “there’s always more n———- in the pot.” Don’t worry, we understand them.

It’s a statewide vote so technically true *runs off*

And then you go to the 105, get off on Crenshaw and tell your homies to look alive, right? (...alright, all I know about LA freeways I get from hip hop)

In 1977, Andrew Cuomo was working on his father's unsuccessful mayoral campaign against Ed Koch. Voters received mailers saying, "Vote for Cuomo, not the homo", which Andrew Cuomo has been widely reported to be responsible for. He's been using the same bigoted campaign tactics for nearly 50 years.

I knocked on @marawilson.bsky.social’s door while canvassing for a City Council campaign. (She wasn’t home.)

De Blasio having the time of his life rn

Boy we bout to have an Arsenal fan in City Hall

Giving the game away that Old gate was not about health or age but simply access

Hey he’s got experience being a weirdo flunky

We are marching to Senator Thune’s office. There must be accountability for the detainment of a Senator. This is not normal.

Genuinely think they don't realize they're going to be dealing with massive crowds in every city in the country this weekend.

"It's my people today and yours tomorrow! Remember this day! Remember Ghorman!"

Senator Alex Padilla is a good man and principled public servant. The brazen and aggressive manhandling of Senator Padilla by the Trump administration is a sickening disgrace. Anyone who assaulted the Senator should be held accountable. No one is above the law.

Violence against political opposition is a sure sign of democratic collapse. We are in very dangerous waters. Everyone must resist now.

Seems noteworthy to me that they're admitting that they're sending in the military because of the state government's ideology!!!

i think this is exactly right

Like ultimately the GOP just doesn't care about other people and are ok with it if they suffer and die. They used to try to mask this with bullshit claims that the safety net actually harms poor people or that it would destroy the economy or whatever. Now they don't feel they have to anymore.

Cant be more obvious that Bezos is completely in the tank for Trumps fascist project

Been sayin’ it

Republicans have no idea why they win elections.

Now he's comin' again for the Scoleri Brothers

This Alabama letter is quite the doozy:

To keep going with the Library of America series, here’s an excerpt from Alabama’s letter urging Kentucky to secede:

With the caveat that this is NOT me saying don’t bring certain flags… I think it becomes all the more important that we have a phalanx of people who can form a perimeter of American flags at the drop of a hat

Beautiful, and I look forward to adding it to my hat
