Because I think back to 2017, when I tried to be the monkey wrench and got hearing damage and ptsd but accomplished nothing. If we do want to have a say in things and not just twiddle our thumbs until the regime dwindles out to incompetence, we gotta use different tactics than what failed in 2017.

But also, yeah, not everyone should cast themselves as the monkey wrench itself. Some throw themselves into the political agitation so much that they get mangled by the machine.

A poorly running machine will break down on its own, just as a poorly run rulership will break down on its own. But throwing a monkey wrench in the works almost always speeds up the break down.

Political agitation can generate situations that bad leaders will prove their incompetence, giving a bad leader an hard time burns them out faster than giving them an easy time. And political agitation can have localized benefits, like keeping the cops and ICE too busy to deport people.

That was very much one of my thoughts as I watched the video.

Oh, and if you want to go to the festival too, you can! Tickets still available! In the PNW woods, music and camping, rather queer. harstinehoopla.org

And full disclosure, I’m going to festival in a week and a half, and any extra money will go towards food and fuel and fun.

I usually do the same. Last time we went to Seattle I didn’t scope the maps ahead of time and roads had changed just enough that my mental map was no use and the gps was very confused, quite stressful. I wish I had taken the two hours to study the map ahead of time. I know better for next time.

Very much agree with that. With gps it teaches you one route, and eventually you memorize that route and don’t need the gps. Then one day the road is closed for construction and you don’t know how to get around it.

I like the way you worded all that.

Did I mention I’m off my adhd meds because I found out the corn starch binder in the pills is above my corn allergy threshold? Bet ya can’t tell. I’m not scatterbrained at all.

Me staring at wood pile on the workbench: “I need to make a new S3 bucket for the test files aren’t I… oh and I also still need an ash can for the campsite in the woods”

So then I had to take some recycling out which means I had to find my shoes and then next thing I know I’m in the garage instead of on the computer and I still don’t have a drink.

I’m working on code but I need more caffeine so I go downstairs to get a drink and find we got new Kleenex in that is in front of the door to the room with the drink so I then take the Kleenex and replace the empty Kleenex box and break down the empty Kleenex box only to find the recycling is full..
