This is a conversation I had with my boss the other day, we are only now seeing NVQs in the workplace and stuff now - office apprenticeships and things. Training depts were seen as dead weight in the 70s/80s, and were killed off - and we have been reaping that whirlwind for years.

Unfortunately Russia's actions and political shift over the last 2 decades make this seem truly naive. I think the money would be better spent exposing misinformation and patsy's at play in the UK and her allies, rather than nukes, but the idea that Russia isn't a threat is laughable.

Yes, but he only wants to do it in the prisons where the inmates have experience of committing violent or terrorist acts - so that's completely reasonable then... JFC...

But fixing the system means they only need to win once. Complacency is the enemy of liberty.

If DOGE's acts do turn out to be illegal and void, does that create a liability and a possibility of class actions?

Nope, he can claim it was unintentional - but you can't argue it didn't echo it. Even if unintentional, that's a huge gap in knowledge for someone leading the country. A shocking display of ignorance.

The point is "Not if you can't prove I wouldn't have done so without the gift." - As we know, mind reading is a requirement for serving as either a judge or on a jury - making this perfectly reasonable. Simple fact is, if you accept a gift from someone you can influence policy for, recuse yourself.

I don't know, chucking out any English who won't learn it, maybe just banning them from owning property there, seems sort of poetic... Could we get an exception for the Scots? Shared history of cultural deletion and all that?

IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE FRIEREN YET I'LL SCREAM. Honestly, life changing. (In a low key way, although for that one guy who tackled a mugger IRL because of it, more so.)

You done Frieren yet? That will fix the Flump. Only one Season, but Season 2 is APPARENTLY next year. Supposedly.

"In the era of AI" - I thought fact checking was supposed to be journalism 101. There has been a woeful lack of actual journalism being done in mainstream (Read billionaire owned and promoted) news in a while now. Thank you Hearst\Pulitzer.

That then needs version control, so that feature can't be abused - or everyone needs to take a screenshot of every post they repost with agreement, or dispute. While the hilarity that ensues would indeed be hilarious, long term it would turn toxic as hell.

There are some lines you don't cross and come back from. No. Just no.

Honestly, the time spent on ideological purity tests, could PERHAPS have been better spent fighting the actual right wing authoritarians rather than the socialists that weren't vegan or had iPhones.

The faiths were the first in the US to do it, then the right united under the banner of "Conservatism" and stole the notion of "Liberal Ideals" from the left. We were to busy eating our own to realise the actual fascists were absorbing the centre, and becoming a bloc. We got left behind.

Same one that set the police on pro-Palestine protestors? Seems a weird thing to lament.
