2025: Keir Starmer suggests that pressure on housing and public services is because of migrants 2020: Keir Starmer, "Poor housing, poor public services are not the fault of the migrants, they're political failure"

Been listening to Kelly Joe Phelps today - had no idea that he died in 2022 at 62 years old. Feeling strangely affected. What a fantastic, blazingly unique musician.

Labour MP. Gleefully forcing Universities to go bust. 'Popping out degrees of dubious quality, of dubious value to the economy' NOT EVERY MOMENT IN EVERY PERSON'S LIFE HAS TO PROVIDE VALUE TO THE f*&*ING ECONOMY! Education is a right. An educated population can only be good for the Human Race.

Just returned from Canada - brilliant place and brilliant people. Vote well guys!

A US-UK trade deal threatens our food standards, our NHS, and our ability to control Big Tech. Join the campaign to say no trade deal with Trump: act.globaljustice.org.uk/node/4305

No he can’t…but he will, won’t he! Same goes for fiscal rules, wealth taxes, managed decline of Wales, two child benefit cap, PIP….

Did Minority Report teach us NOTHING!?!?

Did Jurassic Park teach us NOTHING?!?!

Those up in arms about US treatment of rest of world should consider UK Labour are treating Wales with just such contempt. We’re there to be milked to balance the books, regardless of the little matter of Wales being a poor country. Another case of punching down by Starmer and Reeves.

Thanks to @willhaycardiff.bsky.social for drawing attention to another way Welsh people are being shafted by Westminster compared to England. This time it’s in the way public sector National Insurance is paid for.

We have to stand tall with our allies in Canada and Europe against Trump's tariffs and show that Britain will not be bullied. That means preparing potential tariffs including on Elon Musk's Teslas, and urgently negotiating a better trade deal with the EU.

In 2010, the NHS was rated the fairest, most efficient and cost-effective healthcare system in the world. The Tories spent 14 years buggering it up. FFS, Labour, ee don't need "reform". We need the NHS put back to its unbuggered-up state. Which means un-privatise it and properly fund it.

People in the USA & beyond are being punished, fired, defunded, deported, disciplined & silenced by Trump’s administration for their opinions & beliefs. In unprecedented numbers. I thought the ‘anti-woke’ warriors really hated this stuff? They all seem to have disappeared…

Canada stands shoulder to shoulder with Greenland. Today's dance expresses solidarity with the resilient Greenlandic Inuit people and all other communities who form the lovely fabric of Greenland. Invaders may persist, but your resilience will prevail.

1. One of capitalism’s greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that “there is no alternative”. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. 🧵

This is Labour’s poll tax. Its tuition fees. It is - as Iraq was for Blair - the moral stain that will mark Starmer’s government and the party for years to come. Severely disabled people are going to be starved, isolated and degraded. No Labour MP who backs this will be forgiven.

As hundreds of my university colleagues across Wales lose their jobs, I wrote this for @nation.cymru - do please share nation.cymru/opinion/yes-...

Let this sink in - Rachel Reeves and Keir Starmer are choosing to push 50,000 children into poverty - but won't ask multi-millionaires and billionaires to pay a little bit more tax. Absolutely sickening.

Agreed. Suffocating and claustrophobic are two words I’ve used in conversations today.

Left: Rachel Reeves is celebrating the OBR's projection that her policies will increase GDP by 0.6% in ten years Right: The OBR pointing out that Brexit is costing the UK 4% GDP Labour are celebrating crumbs, while ignoring the huge growth offered by rejoining the EU Single Market

Reeves is right - the world has changed. So why won’t she change her strategy to reflect it? Obsession with arbitrary fiscal rules & ruling out wealth taxes is political choice that’s causing huge pain as well as laying out the welcome mat for populist Reform UK #SpringStatement

🌍 "Labour’s ‘red lines’ on its relationship reset with the European Union, including no return to the Single Market or the EU Customs Union, must now be revisited and revised. The reasons why will not have escaped the Chancellor’s notice, even if she does not want to look in their direction."

This is sick stuff! How do defend this?

Brexit will reduce UK trade by 15% in the long term, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility

Revisit the red lines. #SpringStatement

In Wales there’s a saying: “vote Labour get the Tories” - a reference to a century of majority Labour voting in Wales which usually ends up with the Tories in government at Westminster anyway. Never thought it would be the literal truth. It’s claustrophobic that whoever you vote you get the same.

We're probably not talking enough about how Mark Zuckerberg - one of the world's richest men - and his company Meta just stole the work of thousands of writers because it would have been too expensive to pay them.

@nation.cymru I wonder if you could confirm Alex Barros-Curtis actually exists. Like the yeti, you see his footprints in Wminster voting records, but just you try to get in touch with him on local issues and the edifice crumbles. 6 polite yet unanswered emails through approved channels and counting

"No return to austerity" latest

This country is awash with money. The very rich are rich beyond imagination. So when Starmer wants to stay within his arbitrary fiscal rules, who does he decide to take money from? The very rich? No, from people with disabilities who depend on benefits for the bare minimum of a decent life.

This boils my blood to volcanic temperatures. I didn't OK this. My agent put it in our contracts. And still, Zuckerberg used two of my three books to train his LLM. This is outright theft of something so deeply personal that it makes me feel violated.

British people don’t like #Trump! British people don’t want USA deal which will destroy our farming and NHS. British people want to rejoin the EU. 55% of Britons now say brexit was wrong for the UK to leave the EU, ONLY 11% seeing Brexit as more of a success than a failure.

BREAKING🚨 -We've investigated the financial links between MPs and the private health sector, and can now announce which MP received the highest donation amount from individuals+companies with links to the private health sector between 2023-2025. It's Wes Streeting. Our Health Secretary. £179,575🚨

This is obscene - I’m a professional with a decent job and losing these figures from my income would be extremely difficult. For those affected by these cuts it must be devastating. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social have lost the plot. Who’s advising these clowns?
