Former lawyer, former teacher. Just kidding about the "former" part. There's no such thing as a "former" lawyer, and the desire to lecture lasts forever.

Thank you! Hawley's position on this was inflicting serious cognitive dissonance on me!

Funny he should have been asked whether he agrees with John Adams -- the President who signed Trump's favorite statute, The Alien Enemies Act, into law. This, rightfully, went right up Thomas Jefferson's nose. Adams wasn't the purist some moderns think he was.

And better qualified to be President than either of them.

It's nice to hear one of them finally admit it.

I don't blame her for going. But she should have held her head up and spoken her truth, whatever it is. She looks like a dingbat hiding her face. She's a big girl. She should know we can see her even if she can't see us.

He deserves it. I am in awe of the courage he showed in the face of that lynch mob.

I'm tired of funding Musk's toys while food is being taken from starving children in the name of "efficiency."

Beto's honest, patriotic passion is like a drink of water in a desert! It was sad to see the party machinery run over him.

I agree except that I do love Bernie. He's tough as nails, he has principles, and he won't back down.

I live in Kentucky, and this man has done his best to make my life miserable and to destroy my country, as well as my state. I've had to look at his face enough. I'm not watching anything with him in it.

Oh, for God's sake. You're just like a Republican. All you ever think about is money.

They used to call those Rockefeller Republicans.

Mark Foley didn't help, but Katrina hit in late 2005, and the "mission accomplished" crap was starting to sour, AND Bush hit major pushback over Terry Schiavo AND his attempt to privatize Social Security. As usual, the Dems did very little, and the Republicans spontaneously combusted.

Would love to, but the only brands on that list I've even heard of are Canada Dry and Great Value.

I haven't bought a thing from Amazon since Bezos cancelled the Washington Post's endorsement of Kamala Harris. I'm going to do my part to resurrect the local malls.

LOL yeah, it takes a lot of "indoctrination" to convince you to want healthcare and a decent standard of living. Those wily Democrats are up to the challenge, though!

It's called a check on a balance! Or maybe a balance on a check?

Money, money, money... it's all that matters to Republicans. No matter the subject, they squall about money. Healthcare: How much does it cost???? Who pays???? Natural disaster: Who got the money that should have been used for this? Etc., etc. Such an extraordinarily limited point of view.

This paper was great when John Yarmuth had it. WHAS Radio was great at one time too, an invaluable community resource. I miss the city Louisville used to be.

You're right, of course. We should view them as job applicants and cut it out with the personalities. But a few politicians -- starting with George McGovern, my first vote -- have seemed genuine to me. And truthworthy. Vew few. But some.

A lot of people become emotionally involved with particular politicians and react to criticism very personally. I've been emotionally invested in a number of politicians, starting with Bobby Kennedy (the 60s version) but like to think I can still discuss issues. Some people are so ANGRY.

Now I'm Hamas? Or my friends are? LOLOLOL Just stop. All you know about me is that I don't care for Liz Cheney and her anti-choice (and other rightwing) views. If you care (and apparently you don't) I voted for Harris. Quit inventing a biography for me.

Stephen Miller?? LOL You people are seriously hysterical. And dangerous. Every now and then, apropos of nothing in particular, you just feel the need to start screeching about "leftists." You know, if I wanted to rip the Democratic Party apart, that's exactly how I'd
do it.
