I'll be testing that for the rest of 2025 -- the Dr. Marino Cotton Candy "Hair" Hypothesis

Me: Ryan, let's not make fun of how people look. There is plenty of content to criticize. 🤣 😂 Also me, I can't stop laughing

Right. It sends the message that ICE can do that, too. That was the practice round.

Also, it's never good to argue economics because they'll make it cheaper and more cruel. But also WTF. We must abolish ICE and every single cop. All of the resources are going to all of the wrong places. None of this keeps us safe. We keep us safe. We must be resourced.

I'm so sorry it is so hard. My seedlings are starting to come up. I think of you when I water them and send you thoughts of peace and health.

Policymakers and communities could prevent homelessness by making sure no one ends up in my situation. I saw a whole new instagram focused on taking photos of unhoused people where I could end up. I don’t know how to make it more clear to people. We can keep each other safe. We choose not to.

(And personally, for people who know me, I sprint & crash because my basic needs aren’t met. People need to be more welcoming to organizers who don’t have material stability. I’m done with the material barriers to organizing.)

I think it’s worth trying. I’m simultaneously trying to find the ways to survive each day and find ways to organize even if my housing and geography and health may not be stable. I think it’s important to not wait.

It’s easier to invest in someone else — in a “leader.” It’s easier to reform the systems we know. But we know this is a recipe for disaster Sharing responsibility for building new systems is hard. It often involves risking what we may materially have for something that may not occur in our lifetime
