More & more I feel like those of us who can’t afford the cost of a car ride to a blue (or blue-r) state are blocked from important conversations. People with the means to travel to a safer location in (or outside of) the country where they live (including the US) just don’t feel any urgency to act.

I know you already know this, but I think it needs to be said. Our friendship ended when you decided to give up covid precautions and communal safety. When you decided that vulnerable lives were no longer worth protecting. It breaks my heart to see you become this.

Classwashing.

Public schools are & should be safe spaces for kids. My amazing teachers (not my abusive parents) were the experts of my well-rounded ed that prepared me for a liberal arts education as a first gen. This undermines children’s liberation. None of us are free until all of us are free, including kids

FEDERAL AGENTS SET OFF BLAST before raiding a home (with two small children inside) in Huntington Park. This morning - a dozen federal agents raided the house of a man (US citizen) who allegedly rammed his car into a CBP vehicle. Fuck these fascist pigs.

3:29AM ET I just dreamt I karate kicked a cop, twice. I knocked over the mason jar of water on my bedside table. I ended up on the floor. I gave it my all. But don't worry, the cop was my uncle. And I haven't seen him in two decades. I'm not sure if he's still alive. This is where we are.

I think too much about how the supreme court must be such a toxic workplace for the dissenters and their staff. Also, I would write my dissenting opinions in sans serif. I wouldn't be able to help myself.

We cannot let cops remove us from public meetings. And for more of us to attend, more people need to wear high quality masks (K95s and similar). Fewer and fewer of us have health insurance, up-to-date vaccines, sick time, etc. Let's make meetings accessible. Let's make our voices louder.

who's made the zine of all of the US States and territories and is responsible for updating it so that every time we cross a border we know what we can and cannot do -- because each state is notoriously good at uniquely criminalizing someone doing something or maybe, we're now past that point

A radical Christian just murdered the speaker of a state house but the real worry is the theocratic muslim who said the bus should be cheaper

There are some of those "blue states" on this map.

this is an opportunity to act on our collective desire for more abolitionist community care, here in Detroit! DPR is a non carceral, consensual option for mental health crises. We've been building it for a few years here and are almost ready to open -- we just need a few more trained PSWs! join us!

Andry Hernández Romero, a 33-year-old gay makeup artist and asylum seeker, was told he would be sent home to Venezuela, according to his mother. But instead, he was sent to CECOT, where reports of torture and abuse are rampant.

Hello? This is the practice round for when ICE comes. Stand up to these cops.

Notice how it’s almost always a woman who gets manhandled & dragged out? At a Miami-Dade commission meeting, a woman was forcibly removed as protesters demanded a voice in a deal between county jails and ICE. Silencing dissent with violence & misogyny is the authoritarian playbook.

The #SCOTUS decision on birthright citizenship threatens to undermine a basic constitutional right guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment. In Colorado, because of our case, Coloradans will continue to benefit from birthright citizenship, but those in other states may not. www.cpr.org/2025/06/27/c...

Hi friends! There's this really great queer bookstore in NYC called Bluestocking that assholes are trying to get shut down. They need our help to stay open! If you have the means to donate please do: gofund.me/54d02b6f

Mississippi State University's Project ENspire postponed its 10th Annual gathering in response to President Trump's anti-diversity orders. The project, which began in 2016, introduces girls in grades 4-6 to engineering.

"Despite having hailed D.C. as “proud sanctuary city” in the past, Bowser quietly removed a city website that touted its support for immigrants and stopped using the phrase “sanctuary city.” But the mayor’s push to repeal the sanctuary-city law fell flat with most lawmakers and many advocates..."

We need answers—now. Where is our sister Hilary Rivers? ICE took her the morning after Pride with no warning, no due process, and no communication. This is not justice—this is kidnapping. We demand transparency, accountability, and her immediate release. Read more: 48hills.org/2025/06/drag...

Monstrous: "They were crying in fear. One of the agents at one point lifted up his shirt, which displayed the gun that he was carrying....The 6-year-old boy was terrified to see the gun. He urinated on himself and wet all his clothing. No one offered him a change of clothing for many hours."

Say they knew what they were doing. (I'm not saying that.) They need these many cops, "cars" & firepower for 2 adults, and 2 kids (one who is *maybe* walking). I'm an abolitionist but I'm also an MBA. When you calculate the cost/kidnapping, how does this make sense to even the DOGE assholes? #ACAB

I'll never forget the day someone on here told me to die quietly because I was the "n = 1" of people without their basic needs met. Now I'm not. Should we still all die quietly so you can enjoy your weekends?

And yet, people are still marking ind fundraising campaigns as "spam" -- how do people think people in Gaza are going to survive unless they can use their first-hand knowledge to decide where, when, and how to obtain necessities? Globally, people hoard and control money watching poor people die.

Why is Bluesky Moderation labeling accounts and posts from families trying to survive a genocide as "spam" which they define as "Unwanted, repeated, or unrelated actions that bother users." -- is trying to live through a western, funded genocide "unwanted"? What the hell? Where is the humanity?

Yesterday my (pro-bono) psychiatrist researched what it would cost for me to stay on the medicine I'm running out of. I'd charge it like everything else. She was hoping I would go back up to my regular dose -- the withdrawl might be causing neurological issues. Me: Let's not get too spendy.

We must support the liberal arts.

It's Friday. Some of you will get paid today. It costs approx $2K/week for Malak's family to survive (& that varies with conditions). In Gaza, it makes sense to give money directly to women who know how to safely obtain food & supplies as some aid stations are targets. Please donate, share, follow

I would like a mammogram, a colonoscopy, and a neurological exam. I would like access to the medicine I need to live.

Also, I still work for free if it’s the right thing. Just ask. Don’t pretend you care. Don’t pretend there is something in it for me. I’ve been working for free for decades. All it has gotten me is more free work because people understand that I understand even philanthropy won’t pay for some work.

We must find economic ways for people to survive that don’t involve becoming cops. People must be offered legitimate jobs with benefits that allow them to have housing, food, healthcare, and some rest.

Someone asked me how I was but really what they were asking was “will you work for free?” Because when I trusted them with how I really was, they ghosted me. This has been a common experience for me.

Sometimes it feels like people have more to say about how elected officials look or their age vs the harm they are actually causing. When I think abt it, from the earliest age most of us were “taught” to critique bodies & not capitalism. It’s a real missed opportunity — & that’s an understatement.

this is live now but they are going fast

I have some saved medicine and I used some of it over the past few days. I got so much done. Without it, today, I’m exhausted. In 40 days I run out of one of the medicines I’ve tapered down on. I won’t have any. The last taper was pretty hard. I’m still job searching but it gets more difficult.

Boston Children's Hospital, which had been hit with multiple bomb threats for providing affirming care, is included. #mapoli
