tbh sometimes i forget congress exists

Look geopolitics is messy. On one hand you have a theocratic axis Regime with mass protests & masked troops in the streets; a self-glorifying military parade; the targeting of everyday people, protestors, the press and opposition; aims to wipe an entire people off the map. And then there’s also Iran

Private equity plan for America.

Ron Johnson: "What us old people have done, basically indebting our children, stealing from their future, their prospects, the way we've diminished them, is immoral. It's unconscionable. We have to face that and we have to do something about it."

@durbin.senate.gov @duckworth.senate.gov @repbillfoster.bsky.social Don't let them sell off our public land!

This isn't all of the story, but a surprisingly big part of the "fear" of Mamdani isn't actually that he'll institute full communism, it's that people's friends-and-influence groups will be demoted from their positions of authority

Mr. Antiwar President has us inches away from a Civil War at home and a nuclear war abroad in defense of an ally that is starting random hot regional wars to detract from its ongoing genocide. I’m sure all of this will just naturally cool off.

This is one of the most irresponsible things a president has ever said.

A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend” Full emails below

One funny aspect of Trump is that, unlike other politicians, he is not aware that this mob-boss mentality is something you should try to hide or play down for appearances. He cannot imagine that anyone else thinks differently. He cannot imagine it's *possible* to think differently.

I wrote about Democrats' obsession with calling Trump's actions a "distraction," and how it reflects their failure to understand the modern media ecosystem.

Trump is sending ICE to blue cities to enact the "largest mass deportation program in history" and Chicago is at the top of the list. I'm calling for every Democratic leader and candidate to stand against ICE, to call for its abolition, and to materially support immigrants. Inaction is complicity.

Losing control of motor functions as he struggles to display fake documents for a non-existent trade deal as he's confusing the UK and the EU. Brains are leaking out his ears

for all of the praise of law enforcement we've seen since Saturday, it's now clear cops had at least two opportunities to prevent Vance Boelter from murdering Melissa Hortman and her husband but failed to do so.

does he ... does he think the UK is still part of the EU?

Not that I'm a fan of CNN or anything but the continued trend of MSM outlets pay walling news while right wing slop is free is really problematic

Political violence must always be condemned.

After ruling the NIH grant terminations illegal, Judge Young ended the hearing with an eye-opening speech. “This represents racial discrimination, and discrimination against America’s LGBTQ community. That's what this is. I would be blind not to call it out. My duty is to call it out. And I do so.”

Raskin on Trump's corruption: "Whatever kind of varnish they had from the first administration is completely off now. They're not even pretending to do anything else ... it's a gangster state."

Trump team is doing literal information warfare around intensified political violence and Democrats are still confirming nominees and cooperating on bipartisan legislation

The fundamental problem with the “Kamala was seen as too right-wing by voters” narrative is that the average American assumed she was far left because she was a black woman and refused to work their remaining brain cell any further.

Even the most conservative estimates of turnout (4-6 million) make No Kings the largest protest in American history www.thedailybeast.com/data-guru-g-...

People like when you unapologetically stand for something, specifically the working class. This shouldn't be seen as some super lefty position, and we shouldn't need a poll to tell us it either.

No Kings proved resistance isn’t fading - it’s rising. Trump has tried to project inevitability, to make resistance seem futile. No Kings shattered that illusion.

We learned two things this weekend. One, millions of us can turn out for the largest coordinated protest in American history and the press will bury it to protect themselves from Trump’s hurt feelings. And two, millions of us out on the street doesn’t just hurt his feelings, it breaks his brain.

If you want an example of the failings of Community Notes, look no further than Musk spreading misinfo in the hours after the Minnesota shooting. The shooter has now been IDed as a Trump supporter. There is no community note on Musk or the original post he quotes.

The entire far right propaganda machine is spinning into action to spin this violence as being perpetrated by the left. It will be successful and by week's end a solid portion of the country will believe it was committed by someone on the left, facts be damned.

one thing I keep thinking about is how the upshot of a lot of technological advancements - digital cinema, non-linear editing, computer VFX replacing models and stunts etc etc - hasn't been to improve quality or even to save money, but to enable indiscipline and laziness.

He's involving us militarily. That's what he's actually saying, which means he's going to start more wars as an excuse to keep power somehow. He's hoping for another 9.11 in the US so he can have a reason to accelerate his ethnic cleansing or just outright execute people.

PEACEFUL PROTESTS WORK. Don’t allow the media to tell you otherwise. It’s known if 3.5% of the population shows up, big political and social changes can be made. NONVIOLENT protests are FOUR TIMES more EFFECTIVE than violent protests!

In the spirit for calling things exactly as they are: We are seeing the next iteration of modern day slavery. It’s the next logical step in Capitalism’s inevitable slide into Fascism. Industry requires cheaper labor. For-profit prisons are only too happy to supply it, and make a tidy sum doing so.
