the reason i'm ever optimistic is because bluesky has a near-monopoly on trans folks, the strongest per-capita posting demographic on earth. it's like having all the kenyan marathon runners.

I have a mixed opinions on the game. Didn't love the main story and the Johnnny Silverhand character is corny af, but the atmosphere and worldbuilding are great. Just driving around, doing side gigs and scanner hustles with different buildouts is fun.

I didn't play until 2.1 Phantom Liberty came out but there are still a fair amount of bugs. For me it's mostly physics glitches and messed up dialogue, nothing game breaking like yours. That sucks.

verifying with DNS is a decentralized concept. i prove who i am. i'm not borrowing trust from a platform, i establish it myself. i take it with me.
services on the AT protocol are also decentralized. i take my content when I want.
they both prevent lock-in to a single centralized service.

out of principle, we shouldn't let a specific private service act as the arbiter of identity. it should be decentralized.
decentralization is the entire point of building on the AT protocol. this decision goes in the face of that.

setting aside that may also be true for 3rd pty verifiers, why would having a .biz domain mean you're that person?
bsky is adding bluechecks for "notable" accounts, meaning accounts that already have an established web presence on established domains. literally your online identity.

one part of twitter i don't miss is intentionally ignoring nuance just to land a formulaic dunk. performative shock that the other person can even manage to breathe.

this is how we get there. you're missing the entire point.
he's talking about strengthening rights, institutions, and social cohesion. when protections are put in place for vulnerable groups, they create legal and social precedents that safeguard everyone.

Eh, it was a pretty weak point. I get that this is your go-to angle, but you don’t have to force the "both sides" thing every time there’s the slightest opening. I’m not here to defend Obama, but the intent, the scale, and the consequences aren’t even close to the same.

no one outside of an infinitesimal fringe group on tumblr used phrases like latinx. the entire party apparatus went hard center during the election.
