Exactly. Ten years ago Donald Trump began his political career founded on shaming Mexicans in the most puerile ways. He can do no other, and neither can we. The chance to confront this ridiculous ideology directly - a chance opened for us by the bravery of ordinary people - can't be wasted

Assuming they went after these things for the cameras? In which case, why not?

If you whip it around really fast you probably could gather some people who think it's a gadsden flag

Police brutality captured on ABC7-- as the police chief gives a press conference. A fire breaks out, then cops brutally assault a protestor. They run him over with a horse and hit him with batons several times, despite the fact he does not pose any threat to the officers. Cops are rioting.

No cop cars were being set on violence until cops spent hours shooting and brutally maiming protestors all of today, as well as pummeling them with blunt force violence with batons and chemical weapons with tear gas. This is the community of LA defending itself from police repression.

Unironically an LLM probably could have nailed this

None of this equipment is suitable for crowd control and infantry Marines do not train to use it that way. They train to clear trenches, coordinate air support, defend islands against overwhelming air and missile superiority. They do not train to use force against fellow Americans.

Marine officers are taught that the Marine deployments in the Rodney King riots and 1997 Texas border deployment were failures that demonstrate the unsuitability of using infantry Marine units for law enforcement.

Fuck the media. The ones who started this are a fragile coalition not some unbreakable majority that can define normality at will bsky.app/profile/pari...

Their vibe shift was never real. No reason to act like it is.

We'll see how it turns out. But the parts of the country most unfamiliar with foreignness (or who have forgotten why their ancestors preferred the empty Great Plains over the cities!), can't achieve a majority alone. And traitors to American civitas like Miller will make themselves more unpopular

Compton is LASD (county PD) which seems to be in agreement with LAPD. Idk I'm not from there www.coloradoboulevard.net/la-county-sh... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compton...

One of the most important holidays in the Haitian calendar? Flag Day. If these people are ashamed of their flag then JD Vance will have successfully bolted his inane qualifiers onto Americanness So my problem with the Mexican flag is that it's not just Mexicans in LA. More flags. And the US one.

As for the Mexican flag - the use of foreign flags to represent local minorities is very very well established. If it's objectionable here, then its display has a rhetorical, not just emotional, purpose. It says - I will not be shamed for my heritage. I will live in this country with honor.

Sure. But the LAPD's flexibility and cross-pressures here are exactly why "forbearance" might be more flexible than we expect. They know there's stuff to nitpick, and maybe on Day 60 they will. But right now it's the feds who look bad and can't count on their support for expanding the confrontation

3/ And seriously part of the problem with the dialog rn is that too many people in media have never lived outside of their East Coast bubbles.

Too late man I've already hallucinated looting and rapine. Oh God it's everywhere. When the first lethal shot is fired I will call it the 200th
