I first heard this as part of the double LP 'A Nice Pair' coupled with A Saucerful of Secrets. Only separated by a year but (to my ears) already a completely different band, oher than Syd's parting shot the poignant/tragic Jugband Blues.

The old BBC Holiday programme may not have been seminal televison but it did have a very hip theme tune, 'The Castle' by Love

When Brix was in the band some of their work almost veered on pop music, although MES would have fervently denied this!

Pretty much all of the above would be outclassed by the track 'Bombast' by The Fall

A roll of the drums as US beef hits the shelves, sounds like a slap in the face for UK farmers

Guessing he knows he's already lost the farmers vote, so letting US beef in will make little difference

I tried watching the Amazon Prime series but, as is nealy always the case, the true worth lies in the book.

Frankie initially didn't like the record, his regard for the song only grew after performing the song often in Britain after it hit the charts on re-release in 1975
