Usually I like your work, but what are we doing here? What are you asking him to say while an active shooter with a kill list of Democrats and a bunch of "No Kings" fliers is on the loose? Truly a demented take.

(Also, they were nice enough to honor as the clinic preceptor of the year, which is a lovely surprise, since I feel like I must be an absolute nightmare to precept with)

Absolutely his MO. Every time he cites a paper, it’s like a college freshman counting on the prof to not actually look at the cited source. Dishonest to his core.

Never heard of this. OpenEvidence mentions a pilot study with a citation that may have prompted the recommendation, but I have not heard of this in actual practice. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38321601/

The other piece of advice I’d give is to pin him down. When he says “studies show,” ask what studies. Ask if the authors share his conclusions. Ask him how the study fits with existing evidence. When he back-peddles, go back to his scientific bona fides.

Would love to hear what qualifications he holds that makes him feel comfortable consistently running contrary to scientific consensus and medical expertise.

Emily: I only know you through social media, but you undoubtedly seem like a good and decent person. It is with this in mind that I am begging you not to speak this into existence.

Nice. I remember being introduced to them through Redefine, and I was pretty blown away by how they felt like a more accessible and sincere Mr. Bungle with a splash of Limp Bizkit (meant as a genuine compliment).
